orbitdisco 0
To make some shelves to go on my 4ft Ultimax stand I had to buy an 8ft x 4ft sheet of 9mm ply to do the job, I still have loads left! I got the sawmill to cut them to size, and have four pieces left over. They are made from 9mm ply which is reasonably light, but very strong, what I also did on mine was to screw 1inch battens onto them to brace them further and stop the shelves sliding off the frame, then gave them a few coats of dark varnish, the end result comes up very well indeed. If anyone fancies making something similar themselves, I am selling the plywood leftovers for £5 a shelf which is the cost of the wood, saving you from buying an expensive sheet. It's obviously not worth posting these, so collection only from Eastbourne in Sussex.
