Dj's United

Professional Corporate Dj Required

Recommended Posts

We are a vibrant and fast paced events company involved with highly prestigious corporate clients.

We are NOT an agency.

This is a rare and incredible opportunity for the right person to enjoy the experience of hosting events at the highest level of standards.

We require a Professional and experienced DJ to join our team for a number of extremely important events to take place in December 2013 in the West Midlands. If successful, this could become a rolling arrangement for christmas of each year.

The venue is very large 2000+

It will be fully themed throughout and lighting and sound is being supplied by one of the UK's leading companies in this field.

You will be working alongside live performance artists and dancers.

Due to our very high standards and the number of applications we anticipate for this position, we are only seeking the very best and we ask that if you don't meet all of the requirements below, please do not apply as you will not be considered.

In return you will be paid a competitive fee per gig.

Our requirements are:

You will be self employed and responsible for your own tax affairs.

You have been a full time professional DJ for ten years or more.

You would have had previous corporate event experience.

You would have a clear and natural "microphone" voice.

You will be able to take directions and cues from the event managers.

You will be required to play on cue Podium and live show music (to be supplied).

You will be required to make announcements during the events and disco.

You will be flexible and able to react to event managers requests at a moment's notice.

You will be able to read and hold a large crowd on the dance floor playing to all ages and all types of music.

You will carry a large and varied selection of music on the nights and be happy to take requests.

You will have the ability to use the "mic" during the disco to add excitement to the event but without over doing it.

Mixing ability is a bonus but not a requirement (if you can't do it then don't as no one likes clumpy beats).

You will be of smart appearance.

You will be able to work as part of a technical team of the highest calibre.

You will be based in or very close to the West Midlands.

Music Policy is important to us and we are again strict on our requirements.

Depending on the age range and type of clients on any given night you should play a mixture of styles and types of music to suit the crowd ranging from 60's to present day.

This could include anything from Bon Jovi to The Spice Girls, The Killers to David Guetta, Motown to Stax, Little Mix to Psy and anything in-between. Of course as these are Christmas Events you will be required to play the Christmas classics like Slade, Wham, Shakin Stevens, Wizard and Mariah Carey as well as a party set at the peak of each night.

We do not want scratching, mad turntable skills or remixes, just the commercial mainstream "top 40 chart" versions of songs (although extended versions are ok).

We are not a club night so long sets of mixed monotonous dance music is not required and neither are long sets of RnB, hip hop and Rap.

Of course you will be required to play some dance and RnB but we require the types of music to be kept revolving and for you to use your professional judgement set within our company music policy.

You will be required to supply your own playback equipment which will then interface with the venues sound system.

Your equipment must be industry standard and it does not matter if you use mp3 or CD but if you do use mp3 then we require them to be a high bitrate as 192 sounds tinny and sound quality is paramount.

Due to the prestige nature of the events and the fact that you may be required to be at the venue late afternoons on some days and available for rehearsals this position is not suitable for part DJ's who have day time commitments.

If you think you fit the job description then, in the first instance, we ask that you send the following

:

A short covering email

Your DJ CV

A breakdown of your playback equipment (makes and model etc)

A head and shoulders photo

Your availability in December 2013

We will try and reply to every application but if you do not hear from us then this means you have been unsuccessful on this occasion and we wish to thank you for your time.

Good luck.
