Who me?

Errmm they're both great of course. Different people will have different needs; for some DJ's the rackmountability of the DN-D9000 will make it their choice over the loose, tabletop DN-S3000 and DN-S5000 style models.

Other DJ's might really need scratching (depends how many teenage parties they do), so the DN-S3000 or DN-S5000 would be bettter. The same two units also offer the reluctant-to-change, vinyl DJ a more familiar control surface (EG: A motorised platter).

I personally tend to use the 9000 most, then the 5000's, and the 2600 as a "background music" and "Once in a while" unit. I also carry one spare BU-9000 (the spare slot in drive) which will slide into either the 9000 or the 5000's, should a problem arise (touch wood, nothing has).
