Maximum half a glass of champagne for a toast. Rest of the time http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/pepsi.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/pepsi.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/pepsi.gif

When we did a birthday for the son-in-law and stayed at the hotel leaving gear in function room I only had one whisky and lemonade early on. Carol doesn't drive but still has 2 glasses of wine with lots of J2O inbetween (she doesn't like coke)

I have seen heavily drinking djs at work and didn't like it. I have also been told horror stories by clients who have suffered from them. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/nono.gif

Not my style thank you.

You want me to play what?

as my roadie can't drive i do all the driving.

so i only ever drink orange and soda, u get used to it after a year or so.

when first started entertaining just got all my gear on finance top of the range mcgregor and studiomaster top cost £2500 with complete light show, goal post the works.

done a gig for a friend and was a free bar all night BIG MISTAKE after 6 or 9 pints had a little accident knocked 2 pints over my gear blew the lot.

so after paying for nearly 12 months had to continue for another 2 years and get another loan to get more gear.

Pints of iced water for me.

If I'm feeling really adventurous http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif I might have one bottle of Bud IF I've finished setting up and there are no guests in the room.

A lot of you are saying,,"when there are no guests in the room"

What difference does it make?

My clients usually ask if I want a drink.

Seems like there's an awful lot of the brown fizzy stuff being drunk - I hope you're all signed up to weightwatchers ;)

I'm always driving so I drink pints of water. When I get offered alcohol I just say "damn, I'm driving."

Then 2 bottles of wine and a few treble vodkas when I get home.

Pop, water or a good old cuppa!!

They don't call me Krazy for nothing! Krazy by name - Krazy by nature !!!

We are talking about drinking here and lots of you are drinking alot of water..

Does anyone have a problem going to the WC?? Leaving your gear alone ETC.

I personally have a pint glass at hand to urinate in. When the glass is full I pour it into an empty gallon smoke fluid tube, take it home, dilute it with water and pour from a watering can on my lawn. It make your lawn nice and green.

Oooh!! That'd be my dream function/venue, if they could keep me supplied with cups of tea all night I'd be in heaven. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif

The agent I work for wont let us drink (alchol) or smoke while we are working.

I would only ever drink coke or j2o while working anyways and I dont smoke so that is not an issue. I think it just looks unproffesional.

Always Coca-cola http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/pepsi.gif (as the song goes) a nice pint of the stuff with plenty of ice, at least 2 pints a night!

As for smoking, i don't do it but i don't think it makes the DJ look un-professional!

What if pepsi isn`t on sale ?

Lemonade, fanta, 7-up, any thing similar.

I don't want to drink alcohol while working and especially when I am driving. My licence is too valuable to lose for a couple of drinks.

By the way, I don't drink beer or lager anyway, though I might have a guinness when out socialising, not working.

I tend not to drink alcohol when there are guests present with very few exceptions & then only 2 spread over the night. If people persist in trying to buy you a pint just tell them you're an alcoholic, this soon gets the cola flowing! (only ever done this when working a bar & not DJing but I'm sure it would work, most people will accept the fact that you are driving anyway)

I drink Diet coke / pepsi (shows, doesn't it) which I take myself. Will, like others, have a glass of something for toasts, non-alchoholic if available.

Neither me or roadie (if attending) drink alchohol whilst working. I think people's attitudes to being offended by refusing alchohol have changed, and most people will accept that you're working and buy you a soft drink.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that drinking too much brown, fizzy water is causing people a problem when spelling "alcohol"?

Better stick to the booze ;)

One agent I worked for had the same policy too.

Among other rules, if they were broken.....loss of work.
