Hi All!

Finally got 'round to joining this great forum. I am a mobile DJ and club DJ occasionally. Have been doing this since I was 16, now 39, so nearly an old git! Musical styles are whatever the audience wants for the mobiles and R&B, Hip-Hop, and funky house for the clubs. I regularly keep up to date with promos, occasionally use vinyl, mainly use CDs on Pioneer CDJ1000 decks with a DJM600 mixer. I have tried MP3s on a PC, but this was not refined enough for me yet, so I got a Denon DN-D4000 and this is much better at this time, although the CDJ1000 is pretty hard to beat.

I also try to visit Ibiza to soak up the atmosphere and tunes every year, and I went to the Winter Music Conference in Miami this year for the first time.

I am an active member of SEDA - The South Easstern Association of Discotheques - this is the longest established DJ association in the UK. I am in charge of events and am currently putting together a DJ competition to attract new talent to SEDA!

Have a look at my website - there are loads of pics, news, info on what how where why when etc...Any questions, help required, etc... just ask.

Cheers,

Brian

Welcome along! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/042.gif

I'm not sure if we have a prize for a member getting their first ever post edited http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/533.gif But...not to worry, no harm done. Chris, the man who gave birth to the forum (and has the stretch marks to prove it) sells disco equipment at great prices most of the time, and absolutely incredible prices, the rest of the time, so obviously he doesnt want other gear suppliers being mentioned.

Other than that, we're fairly easy going.

By the way, you've probably not had any chance to go through some of the older posts/threads on the forum yet, but about a week ago, I posted that I've got some exploded diagrams (with part numbers) for the Pioneer CDJ1000. Only a couple of sheets of A4, but free to a worthy home - yell if/when you need 'em.

Nice on chaps, thanks for all the welcomes. I wonder if I get my second post edited as well. Now then, I understand how the owner of this forum does not like competitors links, that is very fair.

PARTYCHRIS - is it about time you upgraded your D*non to Pi*neer?!!! I'll give you £50 for your old mixer if it helps..

no worries brian.... Im sure you have now read the rules and understand that if a forum is run and funded by a supplier, then it is quite clear as to why other suppliers links are not allowed.

Any forum rules you are not clear on, please dont hesitate to contact any of the mods - otherwise happy posting!

Hi Brian

I have to admit I am also rather mature and my daughter is the hip-hop expert - when we can play the tracks expletive free .

She wants to do club work and I am told that female DJ's are very rare and when experienced can be in great demand as it is a very male dominated profession

Look forward to your future postings

David

Correct. I find it preferable to the revenue generating porn pop ups, banner ads, pop unders and 'sponsored by....' messages which are the bane of the internet.

Equally the DJ Network is a free place to advertise your Roadshow Website, without the worry of the owner / host beginning to charge you, or selling out, once the site gets a good place on google http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif .

Most people in business are not foolhardy enough to freely advertise their own competitors at their own expense, but I've decided to change the rules.......

........As soon as all D.J's here advertise the services of all of their local competitors, on their websites and their business cards. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/071.gif

female djs very rare? Ann Savage/Lisa Lashes/Sonique/Lisa Loud...... shall I go on....... gender has nothing to do with demand.... the only factor is whether or not us girls can do the job or not.... a pretty face on a fit body wont get you the job if you cant deliver the goods!
