BigBen 0
I notice a number of people mention using Excel for storing details of their CD's. I was wondering if everyone adopted this approach or if anyone uses something else? On another board I subscribe to someone posted a link to Music Collector CD Catalog Software - looks damned good, particularly the link in with CDDB, etc. What works best for you guys? Tonsk 0
I use CATraxx, after recommendations on here... It allows me to export a file into Excel which I do in order to print the list. It also has a link to the CDDB and imports the track data... Cost is $40, one off fee - very worth it.. You can download a free trial to try it out.. High Fidelity 0
Did start using Excel till I found out that the autofilter will only list up to 1000 different values/items. Now rely on the library facility of ITunes. Only problem with this is, I've still not managed to rip all my CD's to the computer yet. And after the CD's I've got to start on the black platic stuff. Eskie 0
I've been using CATraxx for nearly 5 years now; it's an excellent programme, and absolutely perfect for a dj, especially the guys with massive record/cd collections. It's saved me a lot of time and effort on numerous occasions, when for example someone has given me a request list for an upcoming function, and a couple of tracks have looked unfamiliar and I've then discovered that I have them on a couple of obscure compilation album that I bought years ago!... no matter how good your memory is, you can't remember every single track on every single record & cd you own... well not if you own a decent sized collection anyway http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/whistling.gif Anthony Winyard Entertainment www.awe-dj.co.uk, Entertaining London & the South-East! Hugmaster 0
Hi This is presicely the reason why I'm moving over to Ots as soon as humanly possible. My collection seems to be expanding quicker than my memory and now that I'm allowing customer to choose track from my library, they're coming up with stuff I didn't know I had http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Darren Take a listen to Music Matters, the Big Mix Entertainment podcast, featuring music from the Podsafe Music Network. brianmole 0
I use Itunes on a MAC, export list to excell for printing etc.. Works a treat, and I don't have all those virus issues and system reliability issues that are endmic with windows. Itunes also populates track info from cddb, and speaks with my i-pod which is another great product from Apple!
