Gary 0
Not sure which "plastic cd cases" you meant ?? I use a couple of large CD flight cases, holding around 200 cds each. I also use a couple of Caselogic soft cases, but am a little concerned about something which I consider a design flaw on them. The caselogic cases have removable "pages" on a ringbinder system. Each page has 4 pockets per side for CDs or Cd covers. All good so far...However, heres the rub (literally)...around 3 sides of the caselogic soft cases runs a zip (the 4th side being the spine). Inserting, or removing CDs from the top pockets on any page, normally involves the surface of the CD making contact with the zip running along the top of the case. Obviously, over time, the CDs start getting scratched. My solution, or rather, my workaround is to use the top two pockets per page for album covers/inlay cards ONLY with the CDs in the corresponding pockets below them. However, this halves the number of CDs that can be stored in the case.
Daz35 0
Laptop with 5000 tracks! (And 800 CD's in CD 4XCD wallets in case of emergency!) Oh, and 20Gb Mp3 jukebox for back-up of back-up! <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
ChrisPointon 0
Yep, also use a Laptop now http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif . However, previously I used everything from PVC Sleeves to coloured plastic Jewel Cases. The coloured cases, coded to certain era's - ie:- Blue = 60's, Green = 80's etc. This made finding tracks much easier, abeit more expensive. Overall, the CD's were housed in several el-cheapo Fibre / Poly riveted CD150 flightcases. I realise that these get verbally run down by Aluminium case Wielding DJ's who pay several times more for storage, but some of my cases are almost 10 years old and other than scuffs and scatches, are perfectly intact. Not a bad return for around £29.00 each. Now, I carry a selection of Mastermix, and Now / Hits type compilations in a plastic wallet as back up. DJ Retailers tend to be expensive for storage (and I should know http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif ) and you can often save a lot of money shopping around, since there are many online commerical retailers of this sort of product. One, highly recommended retailer can be found HERE with mucho bargains and cheapness http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif
brianmole 0
For the club gigs, I use several Caselogic big(200+) wallets which fit beautifully in a UDG 90 and 60 record bag together with mic, headphones, and associated leads, spreadsheets, postit notes etc.. looks very professional, easy to haul in and out of gigs. For the mobiles, all the above plus 2 x wickes toolboxes (look like cheap stucco flightcases) with partitions removed to haul all the surplus camembert required. I find the caselogic stuff appears to stand up to the punishment. I have mates who use other makes, they appear to be mostly crap - scratched discs, torn sleeves, broken zips etc.. Over 23 years, I have gone through most media storage! I also still have a fully working ancient fiber casewhich holds about 200 CDs, but I retired it in favour of cd wallets as these are much more compact, and they also stay in order. The problem with cd cases is that cds move around in them! Where the f**&^ did I put that Maze CD???
jackwabbit 0
Thanks for that link Chris. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif My son must have almost a box full of broken jewel cases at the moment, so we were looking at some of the mainstream music shops the other day & they wanted £1 each for double ones. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/scared.gif Including P&P I have just ordered 100 for only £15.27, that should keep him going for a while. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/whistling.gif Edited July 15, 2004 by jackwabbit
Digital discos 0
Well I meant the pvc cases that you put the cds in, the ones that are very thin? I'm sure you know which I mean.

Digital discos 0
Thats looks really good but I would need to a lot more colours-any suggestions guys?. And also would ideally need some sticky labels to put on the spine part of the cd where the artist and tracks goes so I could easily find the songs.

Gary, Are they CaseLogic, As mine dont seem to be ringbinded, and the sides on mine seem to fold in so they wouldnt scratch the cd's, I'd suggest folding yours in if its causing you a problem. I must say I've had mine for years so maybe they've changed slightly to the ones you bought. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif
