Daz35 0
I seem to be getting a lot of requests for 80's party songs. I suppose it's been happening a lot over the last few months. I know some are timeless, but the main one I keep getting asked for is 'Oops upside your head' by The Gap Band. Anyone else having the same?
DJ Marky Marc 0
have had to play all sorts of crazy 70' and 80's party stuff, but i still refuse to play the birdy song!
Daz35 0
QUOTE have had to play all sorts of crazy 70' and 80's party stuff, but i still refuse to play the birdy song! I did until.......... I thought I was saving money and being clever by DJing for my son at his 4th birthday party. Easy I thought, 20 kids, between 3 and 10 - shouldn't have a problem getting them to do the birdie song etc etc. No chance! They wouldn't come anywhere near the dancefloor, too busy chasing balloons and each other! So, there am I, playing the birdie song and doing the dance on my own to a room full of 20 kids and 15 adults. I'm shivering just thinking about it (only 3 weeks ago) My mum came to the rescue and helped me out with the dance eventually, but not before people had a good giggle at a not particularly thin bloke prancing up and down the room. Next time I'll get 'proper' kids entertainers in!

Daz35 0
It was indeed Hell! However, when it's for your own boy, you grin and bear it. What happened to the original thread, it seems to have turned into one about biscuits and jaffa cakes. Mmmmmmmm..............orangy
Hayd 0
I'm getting loads of requests for party dances , which is good coz I like doing them. I find you can get away with the birdie dance for 5-10 yrs and anyone over 30 when pi:cense:ed, but only if you set it up right. Firstly don't tell them what they are doing !! very important . Next get everyone into a circle. Stand in the middle and show then the actions. Pause the song at each chorus and thow in a special dance move, getting them to act like animals works well, monkeys elephants etc. I know I sound like a mad fool and you're all thinking there's no way it would work. But it does !! Last weekend I had 25 guys in suits lying on the floor pretending to be snakes at a wedding !! p.s. they were all well pi:cense:ed !! 8 yr olds are no problem, not sure what you're all scared of LOL Hayd
