New Scanners wanted......your thoughts ???

Ok......I am after getting a new pair of scanners, I have a pair of "Mobile Spirals" and although quite good they dont really do what I want, so its out with the wallet and look for some more.

The options I have so far are as follows........

 

Chauvet Intimidators..........£369 a pair (same as the "winners" I think)

Prolight Panthers................£299 a pair

Acme Super Leo................£299 a pair

 

If anyone has any other options or are using anything not mentioned please speak up !!

I am after something that gives good room coverage and can be selected colour/gobo for use during slow dances and room washes for early doors.

Theres no need to buy anything without seeing it...not in a September, anyway...what with PLASA running from Sunday 12th thru to Wednesday 15th.

 

See lots of lights working, have a shortlist, then contact Chris for best prices... a win/win situation.

I had already thought of that, going to Plaza on Wed, see if there are any bargains to be had, though I doubt it !!!!

then decide what and where to get it from.

but its a idea to get any feedback from other users who may have likes or dislikes

and any probs, before I shell out my wedge ........lol

I already have the following kit for the various rig sizes I need........

 

2 x Voyagers

2 x Magic Gobo`s

2 x Prolight Jaguars

2 x Mobile Spirals

and 3 other assorted lights for single small additions at small parties.

 

What I am after is something else which will give me lighting that I can

cover a room as they move (ie: like a mirror) that I can control slow and fast

I am not quite sure what the Mini Moon effects are ??

 

I have seen the Intimidator scanners in action and they seem to fit the bill, but there are many on here who have more experience with various lights and thus the point of this post.

I've had a look at the Floor plan for Plasa and I couldnt find Abstract anywhere. Are they going to be there cos I assumed a big company like them would defnitly be there!

I've got 4 Winner scanners ( same as intimidator ) they are really good offering seperate colour and gobo wheels. I did have 4 soundlab colour scans but they kept getting out of sync and were no where near as well constructed as the winners.

 

For a well built reasonably priced scanner I would highly recommend them.

I know people who have both the winners and the intimidators and I have heard that they are very good scanners for the money. I wouldn't touch the Omega 1 and 2's as I also know a few people who have had these and was continually getting faults.
