With most of us out more than Fri/Sat this month, maybe "The weekend" doesn't quite cover all the gigs...oh well, heres a notable one from Tuesday night which was a Christmas dinner dance (surprise surprise)...

I set off a selection of background music, with a ratio of one xmas track per three ordinary tracks, using Relay play.

During the meal a girl sneaked up to me and handed me a bra and big (brigett Jones style) knickers.

The rouse here was that the girl and her party were all from the local leisure centre and one girl on their table "Fiona" kept forgetting her underwear and kept leaving it in the changing rooms (female changing rooms, presumably ) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/533.gif , so they wanted me to announce the lost "property".

Fiona was a great sport and put the items on, there and then, when I re-united her with her items.

The downside of the night was one small table of drunken people - well they'd ordered 10 bottles of white and 6 bottles of red wine between 10 of them, so "drunken" is a fair description. One guy on this table seemed to take a definate dislike to some of the brave souls on the table of staff and "cared for" tenants of the local MENCAP table, some of whom were showing some outward signs of down syndrome or similar physical attributes.

One guy from the drunken table kept making loud comments of "mongrel" over the music, so I had to use a rather hard one-liner on him eg: That id heard his comments about the occupants of one of the other tables and pointed out that out of 240 people there that night, 239 of them had come out to enjoy themselves, but what was HIS reason for still being here. Not even the rest of his own table followed him to the quiet bar.

Christmas do's?.....luv'em

Just the three this week for me,

Thurs - Xmas Party in a restaurant called Just Gladwins, almost opposit to fenchurch Street Station, for 90 accountants, this was mainly men, with only 9 women, I know this to be true as I counted 'em.

It took a me about 5 records, then I somehow managed to press the right button, and had a full dancefloor all night (well almost all night, there was a 15 minute spot at midnight, but I got em back)

This was the first time I had worked for this hospitality company, and the boss was there overseeing everything, so a promise of more work throughout the year

Fri Another Christmas Party, this time in temple place, its only for 70, (so the chance are that there will be less than this attending), got a call from the agent yesterday with some music requests, my 1st though was great that gives me plenty of time, but the request was not cheese, especially New York, New York, and loads of 80's soul, looking forward to this one

Sat up until yesterday afternoon, I was having the night off, but got a call and now have a Disco for a the chelmsford branch of Aldi supermarket
