Hugmaster 0
Hi Just to add my 4 penneth worth, bare in mind I was into the likes of 5 star and pet shop boys etc until I was 18 or so. RobbieD 0
What a great thread! QUOTE (brianmole @ Jan 26 2005, 09:16 PM)Montana Sextet - Heavy vibes http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/notworthy.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/notworthy.gif Jones Girls - Nights over egypt Tony Lee - Reach up Two of my all time favourites there (Nights Over Egypt & Reach Up) QUOTE (DJ Marky Marc @ Jan 26 2005, 10:32 PM)I love the masters at work remix of Nights over egypt, have you heard it brian???Yes Marky – amazing remix of a fantastic cover by Incognito. There was also a good remix by MJ Cole. I used to play it to death when I had a club residency. QUOTE (brianmole @ Jan 26 2005, 09:16 PM)I can't find my copy of Jazzy Dee - Get on up http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/014.gif Maybe I can sing it for you instead… "Wall to wall and tree top tall, Everybody’s gonna have a ball,…" (Just tell me when to stop) Some great tunes in these lists! I have nearly all of then on vinyl, and many on CD, although it is hard to track the original 12" versions of some of them on CD. The one that I haven't played for the longest (maybe not even since the 80’s) is Mezzaforte’s "Garden Party" listed by 007 - I must pull it out. Just to add some, I pulled some vinyl of the shelf, and came up with these gems: US: George Duke – Brazilian Love Affair Hamlton Bohannon - Let's Start To Dance Again Ca$hflow - Mine All Mine (great mix with I found lovin’) Willie "Beaver" Hale – Groove On Cheryl Lynn – To Be Real / Fidelity Archie Bell & The Drells – Don't Let Love Get You Down Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes – The Love I Lost (Later covered by Sybil) Dexter Wansel – The Sweetest Pain (TUNE, TUNE, TUNE!!!) Fat Larry’s Band – Act Like You Know William De Vaughn - Be Thankful For What You Got Glenn Jones – I Am Somebody Mtume - Juicy Fruit The S.O.S. Band – Weekend Girl / Just Be Good To Me / The Finest Take Your Time (Do It Right) / Just The Way You Like It / No Ones Gonna Love You (I must try and find out if they have a greatest hits album on CD) UK: David Joseph – You Can't Hide Your Love / Let's Live It Up (Nite People) Billy Frazier & Friends - Billy Who? Surface Noise – The Scratch (A top 30 hit from the owners of the Groove Records shop in Greek Street in Soho – one of the places I used to visit on my weekly trips to London to buy the latest imports, back in the day) As you can tell, my twelve's are filed in no particular order (although I am trying to group artists together as I come across them – like the SOS Band above). It can take a couple of weeks to find a specific track!
RobbieD 0
Damn! Darren you beat me to it with the SOS Band! Good to see Al Jarreau on your list. I used to love "Morning" & "Roof Garden". (You need to pinch your nose if you sing along to "Roof Garden".

Band – Weekend Girl / Just Be Good To Me / The Finest Take Your Time (Do It Right) / Just The Way You Like It / No Ones Gonna Love You (I must try and find out if they have a greatest hits album on CD) Yep, they do have a greatest hits cd and all of these tracks are on it Anthony Winyard Entertainment www.awe-dj.co.uk, Entertaining London & the South-East!
