C.S 0
I personaly believe that a dj should not take their girlfriend\wife\boyfriend\husband with them when they are playing. The djs who work for me are not allowed to and my other half would not dream of coming to a gig that i do (she thinks i am crap anyway so thats fine http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/tongue.gif ) In my book part of the dj job involves flirting and normaly partners dont like that, i also think it is a distraction from the job at hand so i say leave them at home ! Apart from Ian Stewart who is the exception to the rule ! what about the rest of you ? I will try anything, once! The Cornish will arise again ! Manager of the Andy Harris Fan Club. YourBigEvent 0
Never, Much the same as Chris, I (personally) think it looks unprofessional, a bit like sitting down beside your set up whilst working. My wife has never been to a gig (she too thinks I'm crap) anyway she is busy cooking my supper for when I get home. .....but what do I know ? jimmym 0
Ofcourse I bring my other half with me, it counts as a night out and who else would push the car when i run out of petrol on the way home in the rain. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/whistling.gif (actually did happen) but because she had a beer I had to remain behind the wheel and she had to push (only a mile or two) Jim
Hugmaster 0
Hi My g/f occasionally comes along, but she's usually got a purpose, e.g. taking photographs etc. She only comes if it's local and disappears once the David Bailey impersonation thing is completed. She always wears a company t-shirt with Big Mix Entertainment on the front, sort of a uniform...fetch me a nurse! Ian Stewart 0
Sharon always comes to gigs with me, and if she is working (this will mean that I am not) so I go to work with her. It has never been a problem, as a proffessional entertainer, she understands what I have to do for the gig to go well, also she never sits behind the equipment with a face like thunder, she always drives me home, she always helps carry the equipment in , and out of the venue, she is excellent at talking to the punters, especially helpful when I am busy mixing, or they are complete idiots any what is the differance between a wife coming to gigs, and a roadie Mobile Party DJ For Weddings Parties Corporate Events Covering London Essex Kent Sussex Surrey Bucckinghamshire Hertfordshire & Essex

robbiedj 0
Always, she's part of the disco. Often starts the evening, gets the drinks, takes over when nature calls, fields punters questions when I'm doing something else, demonstrates dances when needed and helps set up and pack away. She can prompt me when the track I need won't come to mind ..... and I don't drive home alone! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif You want me to play what? Kingy 0
My wife occasionally comes with me, smiles at the punters and generally helps me out. The only problem I can forsee is if you have a partner who never smiles etc!!
Cheezy 0
My wife does come with me on some gigs. It is really nice when she comes, she is great company (especially at the start) and is very good a setting up the CD cases! She is good a collecting and sorting out the request slips. Only drawback is she hates the smoky venues (don't we all - unless you smoke!) Cheezy

OK KARAOKE 1
Nearly always have the missus with me. She can`t lift but helps out in other ways and, most important, keeps an eye on the gear loading/unloading. ;)
djp 0
I sort of mis-read the question. I wouldnt take my GF with me to a gig as she'd be useless with all the gear but I do always go along with another DJ, just to ease truss erecting and gear carrying etc. Matt - DJ Platinar - djplatinar@hotmail.com Platinar Discos - Platinar Radio
