Skillz 0 Posted February 11, 2005 Report Share Posted February 11, 2005 Hey, i just got my decks delivered today and i'v plugged it all in and it works but there is a buzzing noise in my head phones. I havent got it plugged up to a stero yet as they havent been placed near the stero so i havent tested top see if its the head phones or something else but I have 2x Technics 1210MK2 and a Gemini PS-525 Pro mixer. It never came with any instruction booklets so i had to sort of set it up my self but i'd thought i'd ask the profesionals if they knew of a problem like this? Next, make sure that any switches (or push buttons) on the rear of the mixer that switch the input levels between "Line" and "Phono" are set to Phono Also check the cartridges wiring or 4stud connections. Finally, check that you havent put any mains voltage gear, such as a mains transformer, a fan, PC monitor, or 4way adaptors right next to the ar of the mixer. Link to post Share on other sites

norty303 0 Posted February 12, 2005 Report Share Posted February 12, 2005 With any problem like this, its best to isolate each piece of kit in turn using a known good source (such as a line level input - CD or something similar) with a known good patch lead. Then work through, bypassing each link until you find the culprit. Decks are the most common problem but weary mixers and regularly unplugged leads are also guilty. also check any connections on any balanced XLR patch leads (if you use them) as I've found simple shorts in poorly constructed ones are common.
