ChrisPointon 0
Interesting Findings! QUOTE Other top tracks were 1980s hit Waiting For A Star To Fall by Boy Meets Girl Now i've never played this at a gig, has anybody else? and what was the reaction?. QUOTE Guns 'n' Roses were at number six with Sweet Child Of Mine, and Bryan Adams came in at eight with Summer of '69. A surprise entry in the list was The Proclaimers with I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) at number seven. Michael Jackson's Billie Jean and Girls Aloud's Love Machine rounded out the chart at nine and 10 respectively. G & R and Bryan Adams I find are popular with the right audience, and The Proclaimers is one of those classics for when they've all had too much to drink http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif . I'm guessing that Girls Aloud ranked highly with the girlies, never yet had a bloke ask me to play that http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif

stevemarshall 0
QUOTE (ollygeorge @ Apr 15 2005, 02:11 PM) Play it all the time, good track, although i sometimes feel like i shouldnt play it because of all the trouble with wakko jacko!! Bryan Adams Summer Of 69 has always been the week of release a major song in Ireland, basically because he played Slane Castle etc! Suprised that Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl didn't make the top 10...still a great song!
Dynamicdiscos 0
I woqnder what pub chain it was. Some of those records wouldn't get our local pubs dancing! I would have expected Billie Jean to be nearer the top though. Why don't we start making hellium filled bubble wrap?<P> It would help keep postage costs down.
Dale King 0
I think people have confused the original Waiting for a Star to Fall with the current chart remixes/cover versions. Wonder if we could get the whole chart??? DJ Dale King When you see light at the end of the tunnel, beware. It's probably someone with a torch, bringing you more hassle

A suprise??? Really??? Is it just me who plays this alot then?? Probably wasn't DJs compiling the list... Used to play it, but now I have a different version. As I play a lot of Irish venues, I now play Ritchie Kavanagh's new "cover". It's the same tune and beat but is called "500 pints". http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/beer.gif Goes down a bomb after a few guinness or Jamesons. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/071.gif You want me to play what? Kingy 0
Some great tunes there. I play 500 miles, usually goes OK. I also often play: Stuck in the middle....Steelers Wheel Lion Sleeps tonight...Tight Fit Cant take my eyes off you.... Andy Williams Call me al...Paul Simon I know, not run of the mill tracks but, and its a big but, they alwayswork towards the end of the night! I like to find old tracks to throw in occasionally, part of the fun. Any views? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif
