otronics 0
Its usually OK. Start a track, make sure the next is cued and then quickly dash off. Ensure the mic and stuff are muted if you have such a button on your desk, you never know whos around. Don't forget to unmute it when you get back! jackcu 0
I usually just run and make sure I've very quick. I could put the laptop on autopilot, but I've never done that in case I forget to turn it back off and suddenly I'm killing the floor with whatever the PC finds next! On Saturday I put on the full length version of Bodyrockers - I Like The Way You Move. Cheers, Jack.

Danno13 0
Or the full version of Bat Out Of Hell by Meatloaf... complete with 3minutes of motorbike noises at the beggining!!! I'm PC based so can just put it on auto for a couple of songs.. have to pick songs that aren't gonna clash horribly though.. i mean i'd never dissapear to the toilet in the middle of a dance/rnb set where i'm mixing... i've also made up a couple of megamixes in cool edit, similar to mastermix mixes so they come in handy sometimes, as do the proper mastermix CDs. nrgize 0
Theres a goof 60's megamix on one of the Party Animal Albums that were out a few years ago. Starts off with Roy Orbison - Pretty women. Megamix lasts about 10mins which is more than enough time to make a dash to the loo and buy a quick drink! But if not I make sure I have a few songs lined up and run after starting it. Normally I can be there and back within 2Mins in most places. But I always make sure my CDs are put back into their flightcase so they arent so easy to go walking, Email :: info@nrgize-disco.co.uk

Corabar Steve 0
Depends on the night, some I use are: Blue monday Rappers delight Insomnia The sound of Skaaaaaa! (a re-recording of the best tracks from the 2tone era by Bad Manners, Pauline Black & Ranking Roger, you wouldn't know it wasn't a mix of the originals Buster does a great impression of Suggs) Mastermix Grandmaster Party / Garage / Mowtown / Rock or at bike rallies vitrually anything by Hawkwind (they all seem to come in at 4 mins plus) As for the security aspect, I've so far had no trouble. I must look a bit menacing or something??? It's only ever at kids parties that I tend to get "can I have alook through your CDs"etc & as we limit our bookings for them to 2 hours If I go to the loo at the start then there's no problem with leaving the rig unattended Edited April 26, 2005 by Corabar Steve Steve...
