short skirt high heels 0
You didn't mention whether you'd already been paid. Put on a DMC megamix, and go home to use the toilet! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sadwalk.gif They don't show Thunderbird 2 reverse parking as it doesn't make good television. ToXiC 0
Yep lucky the toilet is close but still I have no one to look after my equipment when I go to the loo. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif So the worst that happened was I came back after only 2 mins going to the loo to found a drunk idiot had spilt all his drink all over the dj booth table. And table was swimming in drink http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif [ luckerly decks and mixer stay in their cases, and i just take the lid off] or my equipment would have been damaged and he would be paying for it. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/mad.gif Had people also turn the volume to full when I been to the loo too.Luckerly I got a compressor/limiter set and locked in the rack with perforated panel screwed over it to stop idiots touching it. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif Anyway need to get security for my events or if no ones wants to guard my gear...i'll hire or buy some metal gates[like the construction worker type of gates]. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif
Dukesy 0
A quick nip to the loo for a pee is OK in my books, else I 'd run the risk of shocking myself http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif But attempting to 'blow-my-back-out' at a function is selfish and inconsiderate to the users of the function toilets afterwards. I would be keen to keep an eye on the gear too. I'd rather not hold it all in and just let out a little message at a time - as appropriate. May I just add that I spoke to a club DJ on Friday night who agrees - if you don't eat......then drink a few 'stim drinks' like red bull or 'rooster'.....the stink is not as bad as the rumble. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/nono.gif I was asked recently if Red Bull melts cloth. It can........but on a serious note, imagine what it does to the guts! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/scared.gif I try to use the crapper at home as occasionally I like to read a tad of Shakespeare and Aristotle (but not at the same time). On constipated days, I read Noam Chomsky but it's impracticable to do this at a gig. Especially if I was to make a mistake with the paper and eventually end up with a thinner hardback cover due to a 'super doodle' made without a brown felt tip pen. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/pooh.gif (It would be like starting my own dirty protest, no?) And remember.....Beware of mixing the stim with a grin. He who smiles first will grimace last. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif

brianmole 0
OK, great responses! I just wanted to provoke a little thought based on errrm, an 'experience' I had a few years ago. Normally I do all my ablutions before the gig, rarely need to 'run' for a quick pee during a 12" of something! I was just starting a wedding when I got that feeling that the whole world was about to erupt though my trousers and I was starting to feel quite ill. On this occasion, I had no roadie. I put on a mix and ran for the bog, and returned to the decks a few minutes later, but started feeling bad again. This was no just a case of the runs! We are talking food poisening or something. So, I managed to call in a very good friend who used to be a DJ and occasionally roadies for me. He arrived just in time, took over for about an hour whilst I got 'everything' out and stabilised myself again. I finished the gig, felt very weak, and it took a day or two to recover. This made me think about the possibilities of being taken ill in the middle of a gig, and what I would need to do to cover this so as not to loose any kit or media, continue the party, etc... This is one small reason I always try to take a roadie with me, however small the setup is.

brianmole 0
QUOTE Not an issue for an OtsDJ computer The music playing is not the point Richard, unless OTSDJ can read the dancefloor and adapt its playlist, keep wandering hands and disco divers away from your gear, pack all the gear in the car at the end of the night, and call an ambulance on my behalf!!!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif Agreed, it will buy you time whilst you talk to god on the big white telephone though
