BigBen 0
Just Saturday - couple married in Jamaica last weekend throwing a party for their family and mates. Thing is, they are both painfully shy...NO cake, NO speeches, NO first dance! Wondered about starting the gig with a Kajagoogoo track...can anyone guess which one? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif [insert quirky comment]

I predict as soon as we get into 70's disco I will get "can you play something decent" by the 18 yr olds and when we're into Akon, Ciara the oldies will come up "we can dance to this rubbish" And so it continues!!!!!! Sunday, boozy session with brother-in-law in Berkhampsted Monday - "What happened last night?" Have a good 'un! Cheezy

Hugmaster 0
Hi The Kajagoogo track is surely "the lions mouth" hahaha Last night setting up for tonight - sound system sounds bloody great since I added the graphic eq, took a hell of a time to get it right though and will alter as the night progresses, still worth it though. Tonight, Wedding. Tomorrow seeing how my head feels after staying up all night, if I feel ok I'll keep on through till bed time. brianmole 0
I am one happy cookie, just home from the Saturday gig in Ewhurst Polo club, I thought I was playing with a band and going through their PA. Nope, turns out I am playing alongside a bunch of excellent Brighton club DJs on a very large Hill PA to a packed floor. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/notworthy.gif This is a fine example of why I have those pre release promos, and why I go to sutch lengths to track them down and obtain them. Because every now and then, I am able to play them to a crowd who are up for it! I started the evening with some commercial house, followed by some R&B and Hip-Hop, then hit the funkier house and played a stack of tunes from and since Miami. The audience went wild. 3 other DJs came on after me and played some funkier and deeper house. I have died and gone to DJ heaven http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/notworthy.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif What a night. Marky would be proud of the PA, it consisted of 6 Hill active speakers (I guess about 6KW)http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/omg.gif on each side, with EV monitors for the DJs running off a Allen & Heath Xone92 http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/drool.gif (love the resonant filters) http://www.dancemix.co.uk/images/polo1.JPG http://www.dancemix.co.uk/images/polo2.JPG

Hugmaster 0
Hi folks disappointingly enough in the last couple of days I've come down with a sore throat and cold waiting to happen so I had to postpone the staying awake thing, just in case it does more damage. Last night's gig by way of compensation was a total barnstormer! Dancefloor was rammed all night and the sound system has never sounded so good, all that hard work tweeking the EQ was wel worth it. Today, dosing myself up with vitamines and hot drinks so I can try the staying awake thing next weekend.
