Only 14 records made it to No.1 this year...and none of them simply bounced into No.1 for a week, then bounced out, never to be seen again...

The Beatles spent 10 weeks at the top spot this year, 7 weeks with "Hello Goodbye" and 3 weeks with the long-lasting "All you need is love".

6 weeks at number one was an achievement managed by both Procol Harums: "A Whiter shade of pale", and Englebert Humperdink (they dont write names like they used to do - lucky that) singing "Release me". Mr Humperdink also spent a further 5 weeks at the no.1 spot this year with "The Last Waltz"... (yes, that means he was no.1 this year, for a week longer (combined) than even The Beatles... yet many have never heard of him.

The Monkees (I'm a believer), Scott McKenzie (San Francisco) and The Bee Gees (Didn't pay their electric bill) all managed 4 weeks at the coveted No.1 spot.

But which of the tracks poll'ed above, would you rate as The Best No.1 of 1967?

Votes away!

Procol Harum coz it was number one when I was born http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/139.gif , but in reality I'd have to say Monkees

Steve... Mad bad & dangerous to know

Better to study for one hour with the wise, than to drink wine with the foolish.

The opinions of Corabar Steve are not necessarily those of Corabar Ltd or any of it's subsidiary companies
