SEDA meeting, Sunday 17th July 2005, Maidstone

Recommended Posts

Hi all, it's that time again, the South Eastern Discotheque Association are hosting a meeting at the Grangemoor Hotel in Maidstone from 7:30pm on Sunday 17th July 2005.

There is a packed agenda, this is your opportunity to have a drink & a chat with a friendly bunch of colleagues in your industry, and see some new products, learn about mixing, etc....

http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/toot.gif This month, SEDA is proud to welcome GARY - DJU's resident Denon guru. Rumour has it he will be demonstrating the all new double cd/mp3 player, the DN-D4500. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/notworthy.gif

Mastermix who will be showing their range of DJ Only music products and UDG bags.

Essex DJ from Colchester will be bringing down the I-Rock range of scanners and FBT Active speakers including the FBT MAxX 4A - a 12” Bi-amped cab, 400w RMS, 123db and the weight is only 16kgs each. I beleive will have 'special offers' on the day too.

DJ Banners will be showing off their heavyweight full colour banners and backdrops which are custom made to order.

AND - this is going to be interesting - PARTYCHRIS and some bloke called Brian Mole will be doing a presentation on how to mix, so don't forget to bring some earplugs http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif

I will also take some time to promote the splendid job DJU is doing online, we should have a PC online there for all to see how effective and useful an online community is http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/grouphug.gif

Now then, there is no obligation to join SEDA, we would love to see you there if you can make it. Please come along, enjoy, join in the fun.

Cheers,

Brian

That was fun! Can we do it again... I pwomise to buy less raffle tickets next time http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/whistling.gif

left some bits at home (like you do...), set up and discovered I had a bulb out...nothing new there then... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif shook a lotta hands, met a lot of nice people (some I knew before, some I did'nt but do now), dispelled a few myths about CD-decks etc, helped with a few gear queries, had a few cokecolas (and a beer, cheers Dan http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/beer.gif ), took some photo's,

Even managed to keep my mic off when Richard from Mastermix encountered several different viewpoints when he mentioned CD ripping. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/flirt.gif

Cheers also to everyone who helped me lug the gear out at the end... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif

Whens the next one?

I have just had a call from Dave at EssexDJ, who has managed to find those new prolight quick clamps I asked him about and will have them in stock in a couple of days. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/goodjob.gif

If anybody else is interested just contact them. The price is a mere £5.49 each! However Dave and I are first in line.

p.s. I think we saw Richard from Mastermix leaning over a bridge on the M20. He really looked most distressed !

Ah, no, I spoke to Richard today, it wasnt him.

Did you hear Richard at the end of the show getting everyone out before the Night Porter went Postal?

"C C C C C'mon everybody....everybody..everybody....C C C.........." http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

Oh and by the way, I was nowhere near, when that thing fell over.... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/whistling.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

Incidently, for all those who asked, - No, The Twins havent stopped talking yet...I asked them to just do a quick mic test back in 1979 and...........................

I really wanted to get round to talking to RobbieDJ about his SG6 that hes got (think I got the right name there) and several others, but alas time ticked by too fast.

Don't know if I'll be able to do the 18th September, what with PLASA so close to that date, but November 20th...thats possible.

The Twins are Sean and Brett. They used to DJ many, many, moons ago - but now only do family do's as they are firmly of the belief that "good" music ended on Dec 31st 1979 23:59 pm... and there hasnt been anything else since.

As for fitting everything in the van... For the next show, its all fitting in a Ford Focus... somehow... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/flex.gif
