I just wish I weren't a DIY disaster - I'd struggle to even BUY the right bits let alone actually do anything with them http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sad.gif

Seriously mate you have never seen me! I'm the most impratical person in the world, yet I managed to build my pc (very simple really) and build a full flightcase also (with lid, metal, aesthetically pleasing etc)

If I can do it you can!

Catch me on msn if you want some advice choosing parts, I'll show what to get for a cheap system..

Thanks for the offer :)

Building the PC is no problem - I've done that loads of times. It's more the case, what racking thingies I need, how they attach to the case, etc. etc.

There isn't a step-by-step guide with pics anywhere is there?

I'll drop you a note,

Cheers,

Jack.

  • 2 weeks later...

This is very simular to a design we came up with 2 years ago, but our tft simply folds down onto the top of the mixer - with a lump of foam between the mixer and screen. Then the lid of the case is foam lined too to protect the screen...

Depending on the type of TFT, we also power the screen from the PC so the TFT PSU is nowhere near an audio source. We have found the PSU's can generate unwanted noise from the transformers.

The only UK number 1 record to contain in its lyrics the title of the song which knocked it off number 1 was... Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen (lyric: "Mamma Mia")!
