Gary 0
Gosh! 16 weeks of this year was dominated by just 4 tracks. Billy Ocean "When the going gets tough", the Communards "Dont leave me this way", Berlins "Take my breath away", and Jackie Wilsons "Reet Petite" all keeping on top of the rest, for 4 weeks each. No less than 9 artists managed 3 weeks at No.1 - these were Diana Ross "Chain Reaction", Cliff & The Young ones "Livin' Doll" (What does this button do?), George Michaels "Different corner" (Wake me up before it end ends http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sleep1.gif ), Spitting Images "The Chicken Song" (The ultimate action song, if only you could find all the props - and had medical insurance), Doctor & The Medics "Spirit in the sky", Madonna "Papa dont preach" (but teach me to ride a horse), Chris De Burgh "Lady in Bed", and that ol' Eastender with a good heartbeat Nick Berry "Every Loser Wins". The Pet Shop Boys debuted with "West End Girls" and held onto No.1 for 2 weeks, as did Aha "The sun always shines on TV", Wham! with "The edge of heaven", and Europes (playable every new years eve) classic "The Final Countdown". Barely worth mentioning, but with just a single week at a No.1 single were Falco "Rock Me amedeus", Madonna's "True Blue" (nice outfit), and The Housemartins strangling the old Isley Brothers "Caravan of love". But which no.1 is your audiences No.1 of this year...? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif
brianmole 0
Gotta be Diana Ross - Chain Reaction. By the way, who can forget Spitting Image: The Chicken Song, the B side had "I've never met a nice South African" on it http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/omg.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif
