The two songs in the title are always preceeded by the words "And I don't want you to play"

What other songs are you asked not to play? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif

They don't show Thunderbird 2 reverse parking as it doesn't make good television.

Come on Eileen - 5 times so far this year http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif

Closely followed by No Boy Bands

Snap, I've also found both Eileen & boy bands are frequently on the please do not play list.

Tonights gig is 'No 80s music' (60s/70s and 90s to today are OK) so I've made a list of likely requests I may receive from the 80s but I bet at least one will slip through (chances are they won't even notice http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif ).

I've also noticed recently on one of the wedding forum sites that a lot of B2b are discussing music at their receptions and what they don't want played. Top of the list is Agadoo but the opinion on milder cheese is split with some putting it on their 'Don't Play' list whilst others want it at their function.

This year I have seen a significant increase in the number of clients that provide a 'Don't play' list in addition to the 'Please play' one and believe that the wedding planning forums are largely responsible for this http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif

Hi

I find it odd that I tend to get asked not to play any cheese thanks, but then get a playlist with Dancing Queen, Tight Fit's the lions sleeps tonight, Kylie etc.

My most popular request is, Play plenty of 80's music.

done a wedding earlier this year with my two mates CHAPTER TWO as we do alot of weddings as a trio, the b+g gave us a playlist for the dj and if the group sung certain songs , also was asked not to play anything CHEESY.

so off we went doing our trio act and played a usual wedding set and by the end of the night the b+g came upto the three of us thanked us so much for making their big day so special turned to me and thanked me for not playing CHEESY music.

i can't remember all the list but here is some examples wot i normally play if you think there cheesy or not that's each and everyone's opinion but some i class as cheese.

van morrison - brown eyed girl

foundations - build ne up buttercup/baby now that i've found you

barry white - 1st,last my everything

steelers wheel - stuck in the middle

jive bunny - hawaii 5'0 mix/rock n roll mix

gloria gaynor - i will survive

franki valli - oh what a night

the real thing - you to me are everything

gap band - oops upside your head

the o'jays - love train

wham - wake me up before you go go

culture club - karma chameleon

michael jackson - billy jean/megamix

drifters megamix

tiffany - i think were alone now

berlinda carlisle - heaven is a place on earth

b 52's - love shack

robbie williams - rock dj

kylie - can't get you out of my head

mavericks - dance the night away

grease megamix

dirty dancing megamix

my own mix i think is realy greatly cheesy - oops upside your head/macarena/agadoo/music man/locomotion/saturday night/hokey cokey/can can/timewarp

noe theese are jus a few i would normally play at a wedding and i think i played most if not all at this wedding and got THANKED for not palying cheese.

obviously a clients perspective of chees is differen to most of us in the business.

Hi all,

Well the list above by DJF, we would get crucified if we didnt play most of those at most functions, they are someof the most requested surely, although still cheesy I will admit.

The things that most people ask us not to play are:

Ronan Keating - This is the most prominent one....

Birdie Song

Agadoo

We have also been asked not to play Robbie Williams a fair few times.
