spinner 0
QUOTE (cookiecat @ Sep 5 2005, 05:34 PM)Council tenant-no chance of a loan http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sad.gif Actually you could probably get a loan from Provident. Have a look at their website. However they specialise in lending to people who can't get bank loans and their interest rates are correspondingly higher. It's horses for courses of course. When you've got plenty of money banks fall over themselves to lend you more. When you're short of it their enthusiasm seems to go!!
transeurope 0
Don't forget credit unions. They specialise in what is called "micro-finance". They lend to people in circumstances that normally only loan sharks would touch, but they DO pay attention to things like business plans in a way...

spinner 0
QUOTE (cookiecat @ Sep 5 2005, 07:49 PM)497.4% APR Not so. £500 would allow you to set up a small system. If you bought used you could get quite a lot. £500, borrowed over 55 weeks, would be repayable at £15 per week, with a total repayable of £825. The APR on that is 177% although in reality you'd be paying back 65% more than you borrowed. If, in that time, you were earning money from the disco you should be getting more than £15 a week so should be able to afford the repayments. I'm not suggesting that's what you should do, but if you're that keen to get back into things it's a way you could use. Edited September 5, 2005 by spinner

Kingy 0
I must admit, with an APR of that size I would warn anyone off!! Sheer robbery of the people who could do with help the most if you ask me. How on earth can they justify such rates??? Not everyone will default, even though they have no credit history. Just my thoughts.
