Spectrum analyzer/with or without equilzr

Recommended Posts

Just looking to fill the 1u gap i have in my rack. dont really need eq but fancy a spectrum analyzer just for the pretty lights http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif

Should be cheap i reckon but cant find any?

Unless i just go for a blanking plate (1u) and fit few led's in it http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

Do you actually need this or is it just for aesthetics?

Bear in mind that by adding it into your signal chain you're going to introduce more noise into your signal, and with cheaper units you're likely to get more.

1U of meters isn't really going to give you the resolution to tell very much anyway.

I suppose it comes down to whether you're trying to improve your sound or not

Nah dont need anyting to improve sound or show me the wave ratio of the fu fu valve or anything, just want to fill me gap with a 30 quid eq/analyzer!

Blank plate is boring!

But also just about the only thing that is virtually guaranteed to not introduce more noise or break at an inopportune moment! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

How about a pull out rack light so you can see what you're doing? Or a really nice musical sounding compressor?

If i decide to fill me gap with a spectrum/eq...(it will have to be cheap as it will be doing nothing)...i will just connect my line 2 or booth output to it so it gets a signal for the lights thats all. dont need eq have it on my mixer anyway
