brianmole 0
It's that time again, ALL are welcome to the next SEDA meeting in Maidstone at 7:30pm on Sunday 18th September 2005. This will be a great opportunity to discuss the latest issues, developments, and equipment offerings seen at PLASA this week. The members show is Eclipse Disco from our very own DJU member Keith. This is allegedly one of Kent's biggest discos (sounds like a challenge to me) featuring a huge kit list including Deltec speakers, OODJ, etc, etc... Bring earplugs http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif DJU member PARTYCHRIS has some special offers on business card printing, and stand up display banner thingys - CHRIS, HELP, what do you call them? Chris is also putting together a group buy of glow novelties from a quality supplier, and will have samples to display. Acieeed http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/kid.gif DJU member RobbieJD is demonstrating a special clamp which has cut down his setup times considerably. And best of all, it's a bring & buy sale! So, dig out all those unused bits of DJ gear, bring them down and sell them. Chris, I'll give you £50 for those DN-S5000, that'll go towards a pair of DN-S3500. We really look forward to seeing you there. Eskie 0
Coincidentally I'm doing a gig in Sandwich, Kent next sunday night. How come the show is starting so late though? I thought these meetings were usually afternoon affairs? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif Anthony Winyard Entertainment www.awe-dj.co.uk, Entertaining London & the South-East! brianmole 0
Eskie, you're thinking of NADJ. From what I have heard, they are always during the day, SEDA is always an evening thing which is good for me as it does not screw up the day and I can enjoy my role as a father. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif Chris, email me the image http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif
Paul Forsyth 0
The meeetings are usually evening Eskie, you may be getting mixed up as this one was meant to include a mixing workshop that started in the afternoon, but the response was so poor it has been postponed. Hope this helps (not with getting to it I guess http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/sterb188.gif ) Vinnie Paul Forsyth The DJ formally known as Vinnie

FDDJ 0
I can't make it on the 18th as I have a gig but i'm interested to know how much those pull up stands cost? Gary 0
Do they make those pull up stands in a "translucent" material for lighting from behind with gobo's or colour-washers. If so...that would be instant bye-bye lightscreens... OK, I've got a star-cloth in production already, but others may want a good (and easier to transport) alternative to lightscreens. partychris 0
Ok im here to answer those questions, the cost of the stands including print and art work work out to about £130 each... i have had a look on the net and this is a good price (also yes there are cheaper!) these are printed on a high photo coated plastic that does to tear ! it will crease if folded, but this should not happen when used in normal conditions. Im also VERY sure there is a back lit film that as Gary said can be projected onto so in effect making a light screen, i will try to source some for the next meeting and demo this if possible. The other good thing is that iff you ever need to change anything on the print you only need to pay for a change to the artwork and a new print then the old one can be replaced. Any more questions?? Really you do need to see these to see the quality of the print its a hight gloss photo ! ohh forgot they do do these a lot wider as wel !?? i think up to about 2m !! but the cost would be a lot more expensive. FDDJ 0
Cool. I will add that into my marketing budget as an addition for when I am at Wedding fairs, just need to finish the new company logo first http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif Edited September 15, 2005 by StevJam "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." - Charles Darwin <a href="http://www.djassociates.org"><img src="http://www.djassociates.org/anims/compres_banner.gif" alt="Join the DJ Associates Disc Jockey Association" border="0" width="468" height="60"></a>
partychris 0
Please bear in mind if you do need pop up stands or anything thing like that including flyers, always try to have high quality images. Nothing less than 200dpi and certainly not 72dpi, this is fine for web sites but a NO NO for large format colour printing.. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/wallbash.gif I wont go into dot per inch (dpi) as this can confuse people ! maybe at the meeting ! brianmole 0
Hi all, excellent turnout considering we had no suppliers scheduled for this one! I guess 30 of us saw the Eclipse disco, RobbieDJ's clamp, PARTYCHRIS's pull up displays, and a few of us brought along some bits n pieces for sale. More importantly, it was another great opportunity to have a chat over a beer/lemonade with piers, discuss PLASA, digital DJ etc... On to the pictures then: http://www.seda.org.uk/images/180905/eclipse.jpg Keith and bubbles with Eclipse disco http://www.seda.org.uk/images/180905/mission.jpg Mission control, Eclipse disco http://www.seda.org.uk/images/180905/pullup.jpg Pull up display thighys from PARTYCHRIS http://www.seda.org.uk/images/180905/vinnie.jpg Vinnie's flightcase for sale - mad as a box of frogs http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif
