1982, a good year for tunes, or...was it? 21 tunes topped the charts in this year, although in most cases, not for long...

3 artists managed to hog the No.1 spot for 4 weeks each; Survivors "Eye of the Tiger", Renee & Renato "Save your love", and those scruffy looking fiddlers: Dexys Midnight Runners with "Come on Eileen".

Managing 3 weeks at the top were The Jam "A town called Malice", Tight Fit "The Lion Sleeps tonight", The Goombay Danceband "Seven Tears" (this song caused far more than 7... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/014.gif I'm sure), Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder "Ebony and Ivory", Irene Cara's "Fame", Musical Youth "Pass the dutchie" (what on earth was this on about?), Culture Clubs "Do you really want to hurt me?" and Eddy Grants "I don't wanna dance".

With a still respectable 2 weeks at the peak of the pops, were Bucks Fizz "The land of make believe", Nicole "A little piece", Madness: "House of fun", Adam Ant "Goody Two shoes", Captain Sensibles "Happy Talk", and the Jam with "Beat Surrender".

4 tunes reached number one for just one week, Charlene: "I've never been to me" (nice for buffets), Bucks Fizz "My camera never lies" (thats true, its "Abba syndrome" again, one of the girls was hot, the other not so much), Kraftwerks "The Model", and finally "Oh Julie" by Shakin' Stevens. I like Shaking steven....should'nt really...it makes his teeth rattle... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif

But...awful puns aside, which No.1 of this year goes down best at your shows?
