16 Year Olds Party

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys and Gals,

Have a 16th comming up in a couple of weeks, and I am already in a debate with my daughter, She is saying I should be playing stuff like PLeasure rooms and 50 Cents and stuff, She has no chance, due to the language, but it also depends on who else is there, (Adults and so on), So I will play it by ear, unless anybody has any other ideas??

Cheers.

Try and get the clean versions of the songs with really repetative bad language in them. But don't woory to much about the songs with the occasional swear word, they will all sing them anyway! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

Do you know what, How true is that!!!

I think it is just the thought of Mum and Dad's being there, I did a 40th the other week and played Jlo - Play, and forgot about the talking part, Hey DJ, PLay my mother ******* song, but when I looked, loads of peopel where singing along to it, and there was a load of kids there aswell.

Oh well, Will post my playlist and let you know what the outcome is.

I do a lot of this age group. As stated above it's mainly rnb + cheese + the odd dance classic. Most popular at the moment are:

Gold Digger - Kanye west.....Must Have !

Push the Button - Sugababes

Darude Sandstorm... Always get asked for this.

Akon...Belly Dance and Lonely

Drop it like it's hot - Snoop dog

J-Kwon - Tipsy

Pusycat Dolls- Doncha

Sean paul - we be Burnin

Let's get it started - Black Eyed Peas

50 cent - anything really

Green Day - Basket case / American idiot

Cha Cha Slide ( hardcore mix from clubland )

Wigfield - Saturday Night

Good luck !!

Cheers mate, some good ones there.

Will let you know how it goes, Might just as well put Now 61 on and let it play, might be a easy night after all. Might even take my daughter as a roadie, and let her pick em out.

At teenage parties I always put a pad and pen at the front of the disco for the kids to write their requests on. Makes life really easy. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif

Assuming you've got what they requested....... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif

I view my music as a tool, and try to judge the 'tool's' worth according to how often it will get played in the ensuing weeks/months before finally falling into disuse.

Unfortunately, much of the chart music around at the moment is pretty dam worthless. Could be me getting old I suppose...... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif

But anyhow, I would suggest chart R n' B and some 'poppy' stuff like Charlotte Church, Sugababes etc with a good spattering of the late 90s Ibitha-style dance tracks.

Problematic audience, I've always found, but could be fun. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif
