ChrisPointon 0
Anybody experienced that common problem of other D.J's attending your gigs??. Those "helpful" Guests who may or may not actually run a disco themselves, but who constantly look over your shoulder and proceed to tell you how they would run the night http://www.chrispointon.f2s.com/Forum/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif . I've attended may gigs over the years, and seen many other D.J's at work. Some were excellent entertainment, others, well were less than enjoyable. But I would NEVER go up to them, introduce myself as a D.J and proceed to tell them their job!. - It's just not professional http://www.chrispointon.f2s.com/Forum/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif Some years back, I played a local hotel, for a seasonal residency, where this guy kept hassling me week after week "I'm a professional" he said, "Play this and it'll fill the floor". I only tolerated it for so long before I snapped, and asked him why, if he was so bloody good, WHY was he at MY venue every SATURDAY Night and not booked for his own gigs!. He put on an insulted look, rolled his eyes, and I never saw him again!. Enough Said! http://www.chrispointon.f2s.com/Forum/html/emoticons/tongue.gif Just lately, I've got the worst ever scenario - The MANAGER who is also a working D.J - Argggghhhhh!. This guy is either all over me, or plunging a knife in my back! http://www.chrispointon.f2s.com/Forum/html/emoticons/533.gif - I just can't win!, and I'm fed up with the constant hassle and him constantly watching everything I do and looking over my shoulder!. I'm not 5 years old anymore, I've been in this business for 15 Years and that accounts for Something!. Argggghhhhh - this makes me soooo Mad!. Very tempted to tell him where to stick the work - I've gone out of my way to help him out - supply him with gear etc etc, i'm not looking for thanks but some professional respect would be nice http://www.chrispointon.f2s.com/Forum/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif
