Hi All,

 

How do you guys go about getting roadies I lost my current one (Became a DJ Him self) recently and I can't find a new one!! Anyone got any idea's??

Roadies...Dum de dum...everybody needs good roadies!!

 

Often a good "Roadie" can be found through your own circle of friends / family / Day Job Colleagues. If you put the word around you'll generally always find Somebody's Second Cousins Sisters Boyfriend who's into music and wants to earn some beer money over the weekend http://www.chrispointon.f2s.com/Forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif . Obviously if you can use this route it will do you a favour since at least you stand a good chance of getting somebody reliable and on time etc and not likely to start a fight at a wedding. There is nothing that lets you and your show down more than a bad roadie.

 

Failing that, Try advertising in the Student Union Bars http://www.chrispointon.f2s.com/Forum/html/emoticons/wink.gif - usually you'll find a student looking for some part time work - especially during the summer months!, the same applies to Sixth Formers. Not surprisingly You'll generally find that it is the younger age group (16 - 25) who go for this type of work. Whoever you "employ" make sure that he / she is covered by at least some basic level of insurance and if they are under 16 then legally they can only work for so many hours and then only during weekends / holidays. Providing you can offer reasonable payment then I'm sure that you'll find somebody reliable.
