I run an Entertainment Agency as well as Dj'ing. Have been getting paid to play music for over 17 years now; what a great job ! Have done some radio work too.
  1. QUOTE any one know if i can download it free from the internet??????????? if so what site????????????? Ken, don't post the same question again when you've got a blunt answer to it the first time. We BUY music on this forum as we're professional DJ's. There are plenty of other less reputable sites that'll tell you where to get stuff free. Give my regards to Barbie
  2. I use Sound Forge for digital editing / looping / mixing / Eq'ing etc and find it very good. It's released by Sonic Foundry........
  3. QUOTE And then the nightmare starts.... You know the usual, very drunk, doesnt know the words so just sings his own which are football related... The crowd are as some idiot without a clue is making them listen to him etc etc you can't finish the night off either the way you want to as the radio mike is miles away from you.... I HATE it when that happens - So i think I am gonna jack this residency in... Not worth the hassle etc for the low fee they give..... I'm not sure if it's just me but I've noticed an increasing trend along the lines of "drunk twit wants to sing on the mike" h

  5. QUOTE don't put on a Dave doubledecks hot rockin' voice - that sounds false and doesn't fool anybody. I couldn't agree more! It really pi$$es me off when i go into somewhere like Yates or to a friends wedding reception and the DJ has got one of those stereotypical "DJ" voices. Be yourself. What annoys me even more is the short sighted idiots who hire DJ's for residencies who don't take on very talented DJ's who'd be excellent at entertaining their punters, just because the DJ doesn't sound like their idea of what a DJ should ! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/1106.gif
  6. Hi there, welcome along ! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/042.gif
  7. Hi there http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/042.gif
  8. Thanks for posting that Hugmaster, it'll be useful to see how it compares to the one I currently use. Regards Ian
  9. I've got just one word for the offending site - "unbaleavaball" (as he would spell it!) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbdown.gif
  10. Exceptionally detailed post - thank you. Ian Stuart
  11. This should all work out fine I hope; I have already ordered a new Behringer mixer from Chris but he can't supply it until the model becomes available in a week or two. It's one of the new mixers they've just brought out. I guess this can be added to our first group purchase too. It's a great idea http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Anyone else ? Regards to all Ian Stuart
  12. Gutted http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/wacko.gif (possibly). Sunday the 8th may be a problem as I'm in Leeds the night before as part of my girlfriends birthday celebrations. I'll cash in some brownie points with her and see if i can get home from Leeds and go straight to Blackpool. Will let everyone know Regards Ian Stuart
  13. This does indeed sound like a very good idea. I look forward to seeing how it developes Regards Ian Stuart
  14. Just to re-inforce what's been said on this thread already... Toby, be very careful with this one http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/fear.gif It's got "recipe for disaster" written all over it. I think the best advice I can give you is to go via the girl who's booked you and speak to her parents. Have a good chat to them and get some accurate answers to questions like "who's in charge" etc. Make sure you're happy with who's going to be there and frankly if you're not convinced it'll be OK, avoid it. I can see how you wouldn't want to tarnish the reputation you're building for your
