  1. Hi, Firstly Eskie, thanks for the post on here - much appreciated. :thanks: "ADS Entertainment" - Yes sincere apologies for this - Unfortunately, the original release was due last year, but due to massive work commitments, especially having to come over to Belgium and work every week, significantly delayed this. I had also lost all your contact details and was unable to get in touch. :aa I am now back in the UK for the majority of the time and am dedicating all my spare time to getting this delivered in the early part of next year. I will PM you with details etc,
  2. Hi, TOnsk. Could you email me your contact details - i.e. Email address as the forum is telling me that I have overdone my maximum allocation of daily emails. Thanks Simon
  3. I have been DJing now since the start of this year and have been extremely frustrated with the availability of some good, reasonably priced DJ Management software - i.e. where I can both manage my bookings and also manage my track collection. I am currently using seperate applications for my track collection and also for my online bookings. I also need to maintain a seperate diary - paper based - as nothing really looks after this. As my day job is a software developer, I am looking to utilise these skills and develop an application which is both Windows and web based which will synchron
  4. Hi, QUOTE Were the top hats metal or plastic? The top hats on my Peavey Hi-Sys full-range and bass cabs are metal and seem quite thick and strong - although, this visual inspection would mean very little if there was a manufacturing problem with the top hats. They were of the metal type. The cylinder inside at split away from the larger "washer" shaped part at the bottom. Looking at the second one the seam on their also seemed pretty rubbish and may split at any point. I have to say that even the good one leant on top of the tripod like you wouldn't beleive. Anyway, took them back t
  5. Hi, Thanks for all the help and feedback - it is really useful. Made it clearer in my mind about all the power ratings etc.. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Have been on the phone to Peavey this morning who were extremely helpful. GOing to take them back tonight and get sorted one way or the other. However a little worried that the top hats may just get changed - the clatter and bang that occurred when the tripod shot into the speaker, does not fill me with confidence for their long-term future. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/fear.gif QUOTE Am I the
  6. Hi, DId you have any problem with the Top-hats. Just bought myself a pair of Peavey Pro-15s yesterday before a gig - stuck them on the tripod, and with a clatter and a bang the tripod shot straight up into the speaker, taking the inside of the top hat with it. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/mad.gif Fortunately, no damage done internally - I HOPE... worked ok for the night, but will be taking them back to the supplier. Any other comments on the peaveys would be appreciated before I retunr them tomorrow as am now very concerned - am told the build quality is supposed to b
  7. Chris, QUOTE Am I having Deja vu' around for tea - or was a similar thread posted a week ago Apologies. I did a search earlier but could not find anything, however after going through the topics manually I found a similar thread. It will teach me to look a bit closer in future. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/stupid.gif Thanks for the pointer anyway. Cheers Simon
  8. All, Still being somewhat of a newbie, and never having done a new year's party before, I need a bit of advice please. I have been asked to quote for New Years eve for a local golf club, 70ish people, 8pm-1am. I am not sure what I should be quoting. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/533.gif I realise that everyone else is all over the country and prices may vary dependant upon location. I am based near York, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. This customer is asking for quotes for two dates, this one and another for a barbecue in July, so do not want to outprice myself
  9. All, As, promised, I said I would give an update on my first proper gig - and "It went like a dream"!!!.. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Couldnt have gone any better. Got over my shyness on the microphone, albeit no-one listened even after the third time telling them that the buffet was served. Used the microphone lots more than that though and people did take notice. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif We had lots of requests, all of which were played that were suitable - had to kick back on a few of them for fear of clearing the dance floor,
  10. All, Thanks for all the really great support. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif I have to say it is the best thing I ever did joining this forum. My next gig is 21st March. Going to get some practise in on the mic next weekend, although I am a bit concious of doing to much practise so that I end up giving it word for word the following weekend. Would still like it to come out naturally. Looking forward to it anyway. Reckon it will be a bit different to my own debut night as most of the people there, I will not know. Sounds daft, but I think that will make it a
  11. So, Saturday night was my first gig, and I said I would let you know how it went. It was my debut night party, so had around 100+ friends and workmates there to give me the feedback, which I hasten to add was really good. There were a few there who, had there been anything to winge or complain about would have done so gladly - but didn't. Good sign. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif All went very well, kept the dance floor filled all night from 7am through until Midnight, but most of all.... I have never had such a good time for a long time - thoroughly enjoyed every
  12. Hi, Great looking page, although I do agree with what has been said up to now. Maybe just a few too many pictures on the opening page. I have to say though that I do like the starry background with the moving lights and the flashing blue lights moving across the page - subtle but very effective. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thumbup.gif OK, now perhaps something a little more controversial - I am sure some will agree and some will vigourously disagree, but it based on advice I was given by a website designer a few years ago, and I have always heeded......... 13. Hi, Happy to add some of the experiences I have had. Hope they help. Web Creation Tools. I spent a lot of time trying to find something that was right for me. Some of them are very easy to use. They are similar to Microsoft Word. Pretty much just drag and drop. The best ones I found were: Microsoft Frontpage - I haven't looked at the most recent version, but the older ones were good. The only down side is that you were sometimes tied to using things called BOTS which were components that you could just drop on your page, such as Scrolling Text, Hit Counters etc. It used to be fa
  14. All my backgrounds etc come as SiteStyles in my Web Design package. You find that most of these packages have a similar sort of thig, Styles, themes etc, and extra ones can usually be downloaded from the web. They are definitely in NetObjects, FrontPage and Namo WebEditor. For graphics and logos etc, I usually look on the google search engine http://www.google.co.uk as there is a tab at the top of this page for searching for images. If I find one that I like, 9 times out of 10 I will contact the author and see if they object to me using it, and usually, they do not. Hope this helps
  15. Excellent site. Very informative and lots of info. Really clear and easy to navigate around. Most importantly very quick as well. I am currently updating my site based on really good feedback and will take some pointers from this site. Cheers Simon
