  1. Hi there I have a skytec 700/800 watt fogger ..... cant quite remember the model number, but i am running it on heavy density fog. Didn't cost too much, approx £50 max, and i find that it does the job perfectly for the smaller/medium sized venues tht i cover. Hope this has helped
  2. Hi there ...... When producing my own music, i go by the alias "Solstice" When im doing pub/club style sets, i go by the alias DJ-Titan I dont currently use an alias when doing mobile work.
  3. hello there mark and welcome to the forum! Nice to see a felow person into the whole sound and lighting thing. I currently do voluntary work for a charity theatrical society doing sound lighting and other aspects of special effects and technical work. As for the pyrotechnics, i hope to go on a training course in september. Our buisness is still in early days, but what we hope to provide is a full events service and not limit ourselves to just mobile discos, but also deal with factors such as lighting, live sound for concerts etc, pyrotechnics for stage shows and also firework disp

Hi there mate! i got some good news...... and some bad news. the good newa is that i DJ a wide variety of music (being a mobile disco) but i specialise in live Trance sets (effectively offering a mobile club sort of service) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif but here is the bad news ....... brace yourself.... i am NOT from hampshire http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/sad.gif Oh well cant get the best of everything .... or can we http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/whistling.gif
  6. Yeah ... even if the fact that his forum cant answer that particular question, by all means, please stick around, i am sure there are people out there needing that little bit extra help, and you could even learn a few tricks of the trade yourself http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Most of all, have great fun browsing the many pages of info here at DJU and remember to keep those posts roling in http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/grouphug.gif

  9. Hello there! with reguards to the Geni XTC and Wild Blaze lights. We own both these effects, in which we have purchased as part of a package. In our opinion, great for small / medium sized venues, as they give off quite a bit of light, without being "in your face". This combined with some sort of basic "light box" chase effect should do the job. Hope this has helped Adam http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/beer.gif
  10. thanks for the reply! sorry i didnt recieve it in time for the show:( oh well ... such is life http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/kid.gif As my first ever gig, there was ofcourse some complications, which ofcourse, turned into nothing but jokes by the end of the night. Upon arival at the venue at the agreed time to set up and run the sound checks, we were confronted by an elderly member of the theatre who didnt know what was going on. Clearly a mistake by the organiser of the event .... that OR a bit of old age grumpiness http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/nono.gif w
  11. Hello fellow members! I have been a member of the DJU forum for a while, but i dont believe i have posted since the move to the djsunited.co.uk domain. Well here is my tupence worth! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif We are currently a small mobile disco based in the wales, uk area. We are hoping to develop into a wider horizon events company, with plans well underway to accomodate further aspects such as light shows and fireworks. Stay cool! 12. hi there ... i have been in the club style DJ buisnuise for quite some time (3-4 years) so i have built up quite a large collection of vinyls (last count was at 80 something vinyls). as i am new to this mobile DJ stuff, i own no more than 20 CDs but i own quite a lot of "disco friendly" material on mp3. take care for now http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif
  13. hi there ... with the reference to homemix. my system is a profesional DJ rig, with the exception that we use a homemix unit run through to the main mixer, as the cd unit (we also own 2 turntables) the only reason this is, is so that we can save up to afford a profesional dual cd unit at a later date. take care for now http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/smile.gif
  14. when our buisness is up and running, we may be temped to go back to our old schools to do their christmas parties (behind the decks this time, as aposed to stuck in the corner with fingers in ears). my brother is for the idea, who also goes to the school i went to. i will have to keep an eye out on things and keep this in mind http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/tongue.gif take care for now
  15. i always turn my phone off at a gig due to fear of audio interference. part time i work as a technicien for sound + lighting at a charity theatre group. we are lucky enough to own our own theatre building. we have a special radio loop installed in order to pick up the signals of the radio mics better, so whenever somebody in the audience forgets to turn their phone off, if we are using radio mics for that show, we get a terrible beeping and buzzing sound coming threw the PA. to eliminate this risk, i always turn my phone off around audio equipment. anyway take care for now h
