  1. Build a good library of music. Do a few functions for family or friends free. Soon you will learn what works.
  2. Pioneer DDJ SX has it built in when you use channel 3or4 for the mic.
  3. I do it in 45 minutes if I don't set up any DMX. Lights pre mounted on a crossbar, which then goes onto free standing winch. Sound is quick, always found if you can get the lights pre wired then it's downhill from there.
  4. A cheap laser, like a panoramic, gives you a lot of light for your money, with or without smoke. Worth thinking about.
  5. Hi, yes, sadly nowadays we never get to use smoke or haze, despite the good effect on lighting as its either prohibited or risky, as you found out!
  6. Hi, I am happy to help where I can.
  7. Hi, this is a good point as stands with winches are heavier to carry in the first place. If you are buying some lightweight speakers, mackie 450s are only 20kgs then by connecting them to the stand as suggested above on the floor and lifting them p is not a bad idea! http://www.discoinsussex.co.uk
  8. Hi, I suggest the mackie srm450s, I have recently bought them after getting tired of lugging a pair of pevey pro15s. They are lighter, and I like the sound. As actives, they make things easier too.
  9. Revo 4 is very good, I would go with it. A lot of output for the money.
  10. I mostly do weddings, and most of my clients prefer less chat. So I will do he main announcements, but the music will do most of the talking for me.
  11. I did a gig recently at cisswood house, limiter above the fire exit, a kid pressed the bar on the exit by accident and it tripped out all the power. Kid ran away screaming in shock, manager told me to reset it using a plastic coat hanger on the window sill, and we were back in business. Still, a bit unpleasant but at least it wasn't me.
