  1. Well this event took place last Sat and after an initial 'silent' set up at 4pm on 'tip toes' around this client i spoke to say "back at 7...buy......" Slam... Back at 7 i was, and 2 rather flusterd people (organisers) were there arguing about banners and baloons etc... i decieded to try and go throught the playlist from hell, it became aparent after 20 minutes that people were arriving in shedloads. The talk volume loud, what you expect from people who had not seen each othew for 30 years! the speaches by the organiseres at 8 were in the contexet of " we would like to say thanks

  3. The booking came in originally from the golf club where i have a residency. They booked me for a reunion and that was that. I got a call from the person organising it last week, Its actually a Woman and she doesn't get out much by the look of the letter http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/wallbash.gif I will mail her and put her straight. At the end of the day the whole party has paid and not her, for the venue and me, i wont let my name be placed against a shi:cense:y doo. Sometimes you have to take charge. I will play the slower songs as backround music, the dancey songs later wi
  4. I had this email from someone who has booked me for a School reunion. i thought it was one of the most funniest things i have seen in a long time i thought i would share it with you all, BE WARNED ITS LONG AND WAS PROBABLY WRITTEN BY ORVIL THE DUCK http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/drool.gif Atomic Disco Dear Ian, Re: Saturday 6th , XXXXXX I am writing this letter to you, with reference to the above booking you have in doing our disco for us, and with reference to our telephone conversation of the 19th February 2004. 6. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/kid.gif Try to get some free information from your local business link. They will advise you of strategy, business palns & grants etc... you will probably be skint for 3 years and make a lot of mistakes. Network youself around other people in the industry, know equipment, management structures of all different companies everything & about the whole industry. learn how to deal with people aswel do any type of dj work. If it does not work out then cut your losses & move onto something else with the experience you have gained. Hope this

    Kylie vs Wigfield

Last night i played a track, Wigfield's Saturday Night vs Kylie's love at first sight from mastermix. The 2 songs have the same bpm. It starts with Saturday Night and a good thumping beat, after around 1 1/2 minutes after everyone has got into the saturday night dance moves, the track goes onto kylie's song but saturday night still mixed while Kylie sings etc... the crowd just didnt know what to do http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Lots of confued looks to me from the teenagers wondering what the hell was happening and when was wigfield going to sing... so i decid
  9. I lisened to this sample and i think it sounds like Sash Vs Chers 'Believe' still its catchy though it shall linger in my head now so i cant sleep, THANKS http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/sleep1.gif
  10. I use a Stageline Mushroom with cooling fan, it has 2, 240v 300W lamps and it gets very hot. i forget to cycle it but it has not given me any problems, Its a good light and, in smokey conditions, fills the dance foor alone in small-medium venues, I like It a lot, but i switch it off around 15 minutes before play stops. 14. As a former Head Caretaker of a Comprehensive School with 2000 kids, i can honestly say that the hall floor originaly in question here can not have been done right in the first place. From my experience there were several stages to create a good floor which would withstand alchol, coke http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/pepsi.gif , gaffa tape & scraping chairs etc for at least 3 months with a weekly buff and top coat. this establishment seems to be trying their luck, http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/363.gif If were the DJ in question i would get an independent judgem
