  1. QUOTE (iany @ Mar 21 2006, 01:13 AM) Why should those southerners get all the fun? Because we've got an association that looks after us http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif
  2. Yep you can. As others have said, light 1 set to 1, light 2 set to 4...etc. I personnely run my lights so light 1 is 1, light 2 is 17. I find this better as I can select lights 1234 and by moving fader 1, make them all the same colour...etc.
  3. This is something for the SEDA committee to think about, as we already hire a venue 6 times a year and meet up.
  4. I'd say too heavy. I only run 4 lights on my rig which is the same. It's not worth taking the risk. I hate the attitude of "Good job I have my P.L.I. ". If a light falls on someone is your only reaction "oh, it's alright I've got PLI"? It's your whole reputation, and not just as a mobile DJ that is on the line in that scenario. PLI is purely there for the worst case scenario, not to allow you to take risks. Also, whether the insurance company would pay out if you'd overloaded the bar or not is another question altogether.
  5. Cable ties are the best way. Not sure about making the cable yourself, I'm pretty sure you'd have to get a qualified electrician to certify it (after the new legislation was brought in). I don't know whether PAT testing would be enough or not.
  6. I created one myself for my website. When a client requests a quote, an email is sent to me, and a copy of the details are sent to them (and thanking them for requesting a quote...etc). It's a PHP script that I wrote and I use the basics of it on quite a few websites now.
  7. I've got it on: Now 29 (CD1 - Track 8) Mega 90 (CD1 - Track 3) Those are just two locations that I found quickly
  8. Complete waste of money for me, the majority of those tracks have been released by mastermix months before so it'd be pointless me buying the CD.
  9. My equipment is stored in my garage and I haven't had any problems with it at all. It's been a lot better since I've stored it in there as loading/unloading times have been reduced from 45 to about 5 or 10 minutes now.
  10. QUOTE (robbiedj @ Nov 24 2005, 10:20 PM) As anybody at the meeting will have noticed, James of Mastermix worded the outline of DDJ very carefully and nervously. This was the same response I had from him at Plaza, he knew what was coming. You NEED an SG6. Today I have looked carefully at PPL's website where you can read a full draft of the licence, which you should ALL read for yourself and make your own observations. I particularly note paragraph 2.2 "For the avoidance of doubt no rights in respect of the following acts are granted under this licence. 1. The public performance of
  11. My opinion differs slightly. I don't think Mastermix should be taking as much flack as it is currently taking, they are only acting as agents for this licence. The problem is, that PPL are uncontactable whereas Mastermix aren't. Twice this year Mastermix DJ have come to a SEDA meeting, yet PPL couldn't even be bothered to contact SEDA about this licence. People seem to be forgetting this, and venting their anger at Mastermix, when there's nothing they can really do. All they were trying to do on Sunday was help us out, and I believe that they will pass on our comments to PPL like they s
  12. QUOTE (Corabar Steve @ May 15 2005, 03:05 AM) QUOTE (HopDJ @ May 14 2005, 03:40 PM) Pends what you want. I wrote the quote page on my site, and prefer it to the one from DJ Intelligence. It won't auto-quote the client, but allows me to quote myself. The code takes all the info provided (checks it's all there) and then emails me with the details, as well as emailing the client the details they submitted (as well as thanking them for the quote request). We did something similar, I wouldn't use an auto quote personally, I think there are too many variables. Nice site Darren. Yep, I'd ag

  15. QUOTE (Chris_Pointon @ Mar 29 2005, 01:43 AM) The reason I ask, is that the SEDA opinions / idea / debate thread seems to have dried up , and nobody else seems to be forthcoming in posting ideas and neither do the various representatives from each organisation seem interested in continuing it's potential. You ask why I've stopped posting on the SEDA thread? Because all I'm facing is people saying "what's in it for me", "why waste my money"...etc comments. I'm not on these forums to promote SEDA, try and get everyone to join...etc. If someone wants to know about SEDA...etc, then they c
