  1. Hi, Your surround set up will need a stereo audio input source, eg from a DVD player, VCR, Sat Decoder or a Free view box via a scart lead or RCA/Phono. If your TV only has a headphone socket it is unlikely to have stereo audio. What is the make and model? Cheezy Nightsounds
  2. Picked up a pukka CD flight case holds about 120 CD's, proper corners, lift off lid, wind up catch for £10! Also about 50m of new artic grade blue 13A cable for £10 and 300 unbranded blank CD's for £3. I think it was a lady selling off all her husbands stuff as there was a scrum for some expensive looking golf clubs for £50. I think it was revenge! Cheezy Nightsounds

    Njd Chaos 1

Running the unit with the lid off, operation returns to normal. It is obviously a thermal problem! I'm going to use a hot air gun to induce the fault with the lid off! Let you know the outcome! Cheezy Nightsounds

    Njd Chaos 1

Have a problem with an NJD Chaos 1, the version made in China. Works great for about 15 mins then gobos and mirror stops rotating, lamp stays on. Leaving it off for about 10 mins, it starts working fine. I suspected a dry joint, took off the pcb and inspected it and remade some "suspect joints". This is an RoHS compliant pcb so solderjoints look dull anyway. This has made no difference. Has anyone come across this fault? It is obviously thermally related. Does this unit have a thermal function this limits the operational time? I have a much older Chaos 1 (made
  5. This weekend was supposed to be quiet, however now have an engagement party on Sat night following cancellation by the previous DJ. Sunday I have asked to compare at an outside Scout fun day! Have a great weekend! Cheezy Nightsounds
  6. I don't think the drinks on speakers stop with bass bins! I used to have rectangular 15" cabs on stands that had flat tops. Many people tried to puty there drinks on the top. Most vibrated themselves off over time, making a mess on the floor and dangerous with broken glass. Now with Mackies, the tops are not that flat, so most punters that I haven't spotted and tried to stop them, end up with booze over them! I agree with what has been said, most people are ignorant or drunk, or both!!!!! You can get cooperation with some, but not all! Cheezy Nightsounds
  7. I used to use a Honda Shuttle MPV. This had the advantage of the rearmost seats folding into the floor, not having to take them out on most other MPV's (exc Zafira). Speakers would then sit on the middle seats, leaving a huge boot area for all other kit. For some gigs it was big enough for all the kit and 4 people! I miss the flexibility of my MPV! An estate car is good but not as good as an MPV! Cheezy Nightsounds

    Holiday Songs

In Spain recently heard Heath Hunter, Revolution in Paradise. Sipping sangria, watching the sun set just seemed to sound "just right"!! Cheezy Nightsounds
  10. Performed at a leaving party on Friday. the guy was a local music teacher that was selling up and moving to spain. He did about a 2 hour set, which was nice to be able to watch someone else work! About 40 guests in a smallish hall, with the worse wooden floor (bouncy). The first time is 15 years I had skipping CD's !! In fact, you could feel the floor vibrating in the cloakrooms! It was a great night! Cheezy Nightsounds
  11. Mainly Birthdays, 21, 30 & 40 (many this year) plus a couple of weddings. Seem to have many more B-days than weddings this year. Cheezy Nightsounds
  12. Basically I quote from the time the music is required, however all costs are factored into this. The only extra is late finish and travel time of more than 30 mins. Cheezy Nightsounds
  13. Friday was a 16th Birthday at a local football club. With the smoking ban in full force, most of the time I was playing to a room of 10 people! Everyone was outside either smoking or hanging around with smokers! Interesting to see what will happens in the winter! Saturday was a great night. A 40th at a sports and social club. Had loads of comments saying how they enjoyed the evening and that they didn't get deafened! the club load after me, bringing me coke and snacks! Very, very few venues do this! It was one of those events that makes you feel good in what you do. Cheezy Night

    Black Lace

Play Black Lace from time to time, 99% of the time it is requested. While on Holiday in the Costa's, I heard a newer version of the Music Man, or Mimic man with references to Little Britain, Becks etc. Does anyone know what this version is? Cheesy Nightsounds
  15. Quite a busy one this weekend. Just changed my trusty Numark CDN22 Mk 2 for the latest mark 5 version. It seems to feel more flimsy! Friday: Big Hopsital summer party for local NHS trust. This will be the 4th year! Great to watch medical trained persons over do it with booze and fags! In a big Marquee in a car-park. Saturday: Wedding reception at a contry conference centre. Had request for some Waltz's! Have Mr Bojangles and the last waltz to cover these! Hope you all have a good one. Cheezy Nightsounds
