  2. Hi All, Just thought I would post about my weekend. Had the biggest gig of my life!!!! I got married on Saturday and alothough I didn't work the reception it was all my equipment. I set up on Saturday morning and was shocked to find out that when it is your own gig it takes about 5 hrs to set up something that would normally take 45 minutes. Well there you go, good gig had, hangover gone, and off the market. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/pepsi.gif But am I happy? 5. I wouldnt say he was the new king but not too bad, although the Paul Oakenfold remix of rock your body is a cracking song which gets people dancing and then when the lyrics start they realise what they are dancing to. Rob http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/dj.gif
  6. I agree with Peteee on the Mixmeister front but I use a tower system with a 850 meg processor 256of ram and 100 gigabyte hard drive. I also use a tft flat monitor and cutomise the screen saver to the party. Hope this helps. Rob http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/dj.gif
  7. Hi Guys Try using mixmeister as it is very easy to use. You can drag and drop the songs in less than 3 seconds and it will blend them in well for you. There is a feature to beat match but I dont use it for that so can not comment on it. If you would like a program for the password email me and I will send to you. 9. QUOTE (Dj SBD @ Jun 1 2003, 08:58 PM) RShutchinson-You only live up the road from me!!(Rochester) How comes I have the longer gigs!!! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/dry.gif Not sure but I dont just do Chatham I do all of the UK. I have a wedding in Rochester next February where they want me to start background music at 4 until 8pm the a disco until 10.30 I aslo have one in Hasting in August where they want me to start the disco at 8 the they have an Elvis impersonator on for 1.5 hrs then disco until 11pm and are still paying the same rate that every one else pays. Rob
  10. Most weddings in Kent are from 7.30 till 11.30 however I do a wedding package where I play background music through the wedding breakfast. I have a wedding comming up in Cornwll soon which is a 700 mile round trip so expecting that to be a good 24 hours. Rob http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/dj.gif
  11. Hi If you get hold of a copy of mixmeister this will then read the ID3 tag on the back of the MP3. From the catalogue on there you can either play them or to catalogue to another source cut and paste the catalogue to a spread sheet. from there you can extract the info you want to a text file and if you then email me I can send you a file that is a catologue that you can search. To give you an idea it took me about 15 minutes to catologue 1900 track from my MP3's on my computer to the file. Rob http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/dj.gif
  12. KC & The Sunshine Band also covered this song, could be that it was this version used!! Rob http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/dj.gif
  13. I have used this and to be honest it isn't all that. If you want to beat mix then the best thing in my opinion is to work hard at getting it right and do it live, you will get a better responce fro your public too if they can see you mixing it up. If however you want a playout system that will put songs back to back without dead air thenMixMeister is by far the best that I have found. You simply pick your tracks from the list on the left of the screen and drag and drop to the right. I have tried and used it many times out on the road and it will put a track into place within three second
