  1. Thanks ADS, that's all I could find about them too. Great advise from you all. I think you've saved me from an expensive impulse buy (£400 for the 4 if anyone wants them!) Maybe I'll save up for the ACME Winner's. Rob.
  2. I've been offered a set of 4 Mad Scanners - HP305 set of 4, but I can't find any information about them - I've tried the Mad Fx site, but no joy there. I just wondered if anyone has come across them, and if they're any good. Apparently they have 150w discharge lamps - are these as bright as standard 205w halogen's? Thanks, Rob.
  3. Does anybody know which handheld controllers will work with the Source Bat's? - I've got a spare Acme / Prolight CA-6 or CA-8 handheld controller somewhere, and I want to know if it's worth trying to find it (i.e will it work with them?) Thanks, Rob.
  4. Ok..... let's carry this a bit further. I think this actually spans a couple of threads, but I'll drop it here for now. iTunes provides you with an application to carry out legal digital downloads - no problem there. The application also provides you with the ability to burn that download to CD (in CDA format) so that it can be played on any regular CD player..... Because the original download is in MPEG4 (protected) format, are you saying that iTunes are actually providing you with the ability to break the law without telling you that, and without telling you that if you burn the
  5. ... Looks like a great thread going on here. The only thing that I haven't seen lately is anyone talking about PPL or PRS licenses - and which are and aren't required in what circumstances....... anyone care to advise?
  6. QUOTE (DJ Dicky @ Feb 13 2005, 12:34 AM) I run a pair of these, but I also never got any instructions with mine. To answer your questions A) to run master and slave just turn all the dip switches off on both and connect out on one to in on the other (Source told me you couldn't run them syncronised, but it works just fine). b) sound as if the brackets have been fitted upside down. Mine hang the right way up. c) the lamp saver switch does not appear to do anything. d) The sound control know is turned clockwise for LESS sensitive. e) yes it is normal for them to stop halfway be
  7. QUOTE (Gary @ Feb 12 2005, 01:18 AM) What parts of the instructions were you looking for? Are you having trouble with a particular thing? Confirmation of Dip Switch settings for master / slave etc. Are they supposed to hand upside down as the brackets seem to be geared for standing them on something rather than hanging? Which way the 'lamp saver' switch needs to be pressed, and what it does (yes, I know trial and error ought to resolve that one) ..... call me old fashion, but I just like to read the manuals (RTFM!!!!) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Whic
  8. I guess with over 2000 members, there's at least a vague chance that someone can help me. I've got a pair of Source Bat's (not the one's with the mirrors, the original ones) and I don't have the instructions. Is there any chance that someone could email me a scanned or electronic copy of them please. Thanks, Rob.
  9. QUOTE (paula @ Feb 10 2005, 03:12 PM)What it is you have bought that is so bad?? Nothing that bad, I just want the best http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif I was REALLY interested in knowing where I can get the videos with the words. Thanks
  10. I'm just about to start running some karaoke stuff alongside the regular discos. I have a CDG & DVD player but am finding it quite hard to find DECENT karaoke tracks. Does anybody know where and IF I can get hold of karaoke tracks done by the original artists. I went to a gig a few weeks back (it was for kids at a school) and I didn't get chance to speak to the DJ, but he was running what appeared to be the original artists promo videos with the lyrics at the bottom of the screen. Thanks (I hope!) Rob.
  11. I just thought I'd pass this on. I recently bought of a set of the 4 ACME Dynamo's. They are only 100w each, but BOY are they good for the money. They come as a set of 4 with a free CA8 hand controller (I was really lucky, mine seemed to come with twice what they should have. I also got a CA6 and 6 DMX cables) you should get the 3 DMX cables though. They are basically 4 channel, 10 gobo scanners with a single flat mirror on each unit (no seperate colour wheel I'm afraid) with pan and tilt on the mirror. The response to the sound is near spot on, and if you invert 2 of the scanners, they
  12. Well, I had a great time - Drove down from Birmingham just for the show and wasn't disappointed. I really wish I'd bought that bubble king though! http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/wallbash.gif Never mind, thanks to Gary I now have a bigger stand to stick the rest of the stuff on that I bought on the day http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/cool.gif Can't wait for the next one (please can you move it up the country a bit though) http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/thanks.gif
