  1. Dare to dream http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/thumbup.gif The others worth getting (usually on discount) are the Jazz fm bits, smooth, dinner jazz and ocean drive etc. Always on offer and they do the biz for background http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif
  2. I've only recently got, think it was for 'Big girls'!
  3. Use an ELIAS, very pleased with it Had a LUCAS breifly, you can tell they're from the same manufacturer 'family soundwise and the hi-fi comaprision is a god 'un. I did notice that the tops got a bit rough sounding when driven hard on the LUCAS though. The LUCAS 2000 looks like a different beast though and I may well have gone for it, if it was available when I got the ELIAS.
  4. I was presented with a huge playlist the other day, all stuff not commonly requested. In the end I gave itunes ago. Initially really impressed, looks good and easy to use. Downloaded about 20 quids worth of songs in the first session and burn't them, easy peasy, I was very impressed. Satuday comes and I still need a couple of tracks (orders some bits form a trader on Amazon, still not here) No biggie I thought I'll use itunes. Downloade the tracks I needed, click on the burn button only to be presented with this nice message: "None of the items in this playlist can be be burned to d

    Jazz funk gems

Master Cuts also do an 80s groove CD, picked it up a while back for Rose Royce 'Magic Touch'. A with Matercuts you get 12'' versions. There's also loads of comps like Pure Groove and Eighty's Soul weekender. There's another graet one I use too, name escapes me... Windjammer 'Tossing and Turning's a great track too. Was Fools Paridise listed? I'd love to get down to Caister. Southport also has a room dedicated to 80s soul and jazz funk, graet way to spend an afternoon! So much stuff I buy for my own pleasure, is bits I've ownedn vinyl in the past http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/em
  6. I have an Abyss, usually use on the back wall behind the decks. Still on the original bulb luckily (although I don't use it every gig). Intresting points Chris, when you talk about switching on and off, would doing it via a switctching unit protect a bulb's longevity?
  7. Thanks for the heads-up Chris. I've applied for the basis web-design.
  8. Stevie wonder for me, although I've got the traditional one knocking around on a 7" somewhere, double A-side with Auld Lang Syne.
  9. I've had a listen and was impressed with the sound, I'm quite taken with the looks too, I'm so shallow! Seen some decent prices on them too. I think at that price point they're all gonna weigh in around 20kgs - Horses for courses! I'd consider 'em if I was in the market for more amps.

The Master cuts are decent, got one of the 80s groove ones the other day. I'd been after Rose Royce 'Magic Touch' fro a while, my copy of Streetsounds had seen better days! Also had Cash Flow 'Mine all Mine' on. Ah, the songs of my youth http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html/emoticons/014.gif Picked up one of the House ones a while back. Primarily because it had Mac thornhill 'Whose gonna ease the pressure' on, tune! The Hed Kandis are also pretty good for older house/dance bits.

Jazz Fm do play some great bits, I definately don't listen to the radio enough! Ian, don't know if you've spotted these on a CD comp anywhere: Reuben Wilson 'Gotta get you Own' and Johhny Hammond 'Shifting gears'? I've got Hammond on Vinyl (somewhere) and I've tacked Wilson down on Vinyl, but would prefer just to nab 'em on CD.
  14. Last Wedding "Can't smile without you" Bazza Manilow. Worked really well and put a smile on the guests' faces. It waschosen after watching the new Starsky and Hutch film! This weekend "I do I do I do" Abba
