  1. Laurel & Hardy Theme! :hide:
  2. There's a difference. Your paperboy and milkman don't have to stand on your doorstep for over four hours at a time without access to any refreshment. Question: Do you make the plumber a cup of tea, or do you crack the whip over him whils he's fixing your boiler without considering his basic human needs?
  3. Actually you're all wrong. I often get stopped in the street by people who think I'm... Brad Pitt!
  4. I would say go on the cottagers, but then again, George Michael got into a lot of trouble for that!!!
  5. Here's a couple to get you going: Vinnie = Keith Allen (Sheriff of Nottingham fame) Brian Mole = Rodney Carrington ("Rodney" Programme on abc1 Freeview channel)
  6. I transpose connections so that if I pan the balance control of my mixer, the sound moves in the opposite direction on the speakers to that in my headphones. I dare say that nobody on the dancefloor notices any difference but I think it is fair for them to be able to hear the stereo image "as it should be" if at all possible.
  7. I overheard the following today: "Amateurs have competitors, Professionals have colleagues."
  8. You've nearly answered the question yourself. You don't compete. Leave Sid to set up his Friday Disco on the Pool Table at the Fox and Hounds. If he's lucky he won't get drawn into the fight at the end of the night, 'cos they don't employ security. Concentrate on getting work in the Big Chain Hotel in the next town, or alternatively see if Stately Home will recommend you to their Wedding and Corporate clients. PAT and PLI is required in both these venues and you can prove you satisfy that pre-condition to setting up. You can charge more too. The next day while you are having a l
  9. They are now at www.djbits.co.uk. Puts an end to popping in for a couple of lamps now!
  10. Pass on the Hotel's NYE gig to another DJ who will put on a superb performance. The Hotel will prefer them and give them a load of reciprocal work instead of you. Just how many trustworthy DJ friends do you have who you could rely on not to "tuck you up" and have NYE availability? (I just needed to play Devil's Advocate!)
  11. Why not come along to our meeting and discuss your thoughts about last year face to face? We will be welcoming: Gary with his usual selection of Denon goodies and further details of the DN-HD 2500 Essex DJ with their New Year offers EV Speakers who will be showcasing their range Glosticks.co.uk with their keenly priced bulk purchase deals Mixmash/Pioneer with Rik Parkinson giving a live DVD/VDJ demonstration New Member's Show from Jon Saunders - Good Times Disco - from Sutton, Surrey There will be plenty to see and talk about together with some surprises, so why not shatt
  12. I bought an Ifor Williams one about 6 months ago. It is brilliant. It has double van doors at the back and a single crew door at the front. As suggested already check the clearance under your garage door before buying - you don't want to have to let the tyres down to put it away!!! It is well balanced, easy to manouvre and well made. Make sure you get a good hitch lock and wheel clamp, Bulldog do a good range. I was worried about reversing too, but it is childsplay, just find an empty car park to practice in first. Good luck and enjoy.
  13. There will be at least one thread which mentions that four letter word commonly used together with L1 and B1.
  14. It's on Steve Wright's Sunday Love Songs Vol. 2
