  1. you would need to replace the transformer with a suitable ballast and seperate ignitor, the lamp holder would be different and more than likely the mountings and reflector you would also need to establish if the cooling was sufficient as well, not worth the effort IMHO HTH
  2. PAT testing may not be a legal requirement..... but if someone gets a belt from a fitting or a stand etc, you have as far as is resonably practicable fulfilled your obligation with regard to health a safety to ensure your equipment is safe if you have a cert for it so it if happens and your can't prove you made every effort to ensure it's safe, you may well be :dan+ju: How easy it for a earth to come loose on a main feed to a stand(multicore etc)....result total loss of earth to that stand until that is ....someone becomes the earth fault path.

  6. Errr.....when I looked at it there was only one page ? But that said it still needs some work on the grammer and the whole apperance in IMHO still its better than mine , cause I Ain't even started it yet !
  7. Firstly not a good idea to post your address ! on a openish forum Grammer..and spelling...bit bland No mention of PLI or PAT etc Oh....make the thing a bit smaller when posting http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/laugh.gif
  8. Be carefull that they don't have a minimum charge per site.. We do PAT testing(we're Electrical Contractors but its a service we offer) but under 60 Items its a fixed cost(to make it worth while going there in the first place and this is common practice) over 60 Items is £1.95 per item Imagine driving 10 miles each way for just 10 Items...Err No ! would'ne even cover my wages in time it would take to travel and then test and then download and print the certificates. No I don't want to do any....its the worst job in the world IMHO http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/fear.gif
  9. No Chance what so ever of me playing him... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/scared.gif
  10. We do a fair bit on PAT tsting (I'm a Sparkie) and several places will not any NEW item be used, until it is asset numbered and PAT tested etc The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 puts the duty of care upon both the employer and the employee to ensure the safety of all persons using the work premises. If items have been PAT tested the company is seen to as far as is practcable to have complied with the Act
