  1. Been using DAS for last 3 years, never lets me down. Able to set up at home before arriving at venues, plug in and away you go. Wait for latest version out (June 06) and don't bother with the gold version unless you need to be able to run preset shows without the pc. Stunningly solid, able to do so much and even after three years still finding new facets. Would I buy it again Yes! I would, haven't seen anything that does better for the price, sound activation runs off the record deck of Windoze so will take any input you like. Andy Daslight website
  2. As one of a group of six entertainers / presenters, rather than DJs, we have been using OTSDJ for six years and the stabiliy of the programme is magnificent. Not one failure in software in that period, ease of use great, only downside to get maximum benefit music needs to be encoded to OTS proprietary format. Once done I must say that the advantages really outweigh the effort of converting all the old format. Would we change ....... NO. We have trialled PCDJ (various forms), Traktor and VDJ, all have benefits and disadvantages but none match the low overhead (CPU time) to match OTS and give
  3. QUOTE (Rendezvous @ Feb 28 2006, 07:45 PM) QUOTE (DICEDJ @ Mar 1 2006, 02:29 AM) I tried unbalanced lead from my mixer (behringer 802) into channels 3 + 4 and loaded my mics into 1 + 2. Seemed to work fine but to save me reinventing the wheel what have you found to be best for corporate type functions? Andy, I run all of my inputs (laptop, mp3 player, microphones) into my little balanced mixer and then run balanced outputs into channels 3 & 4 on the PAS. I haven't yet needed to run the PAS at more than 40% and I seldom run my mixer at more than 75%. A single PAS puts out a sound that easi
  4. QUOTE (Rendezvous @ Feb 27 2006, 11:58 PM)I trialled preset 57 at the last event I did and found that it was too strong in the bass for my preference. I normally run into channels 3 & 4, which don't involve the presets or the remote. Richard I tried unbalanced lead from my mixer (behringer 802) into channels 3 + 4 and loaded my mics into 1 + 2. Seemed to work fine but to save me reinventing the wheel what have you found to be best for corporate type functions? Andy
  5. Eskie & Brian Went ahead with the first gig in Horsham (West Sussex) last night. 1 x L1 + 2 B1s. The Drill Hall at Horsham is better than it sounds but its really difficult to get it to sound right. OK here goes the findings: Empty hall Really getting TOO much bass (Raised stage with hollow space underneath.) Cut back on bass and all OK. With people As evening filled (200 people) gradually bought back bass to flat. Sounds really solid. Will need to have some sort of insulator pad for the bass modules as they really kick ass as far as getting down really low without that pu
