Hi guys hope your all well Ok this is proberbly a strange request but i am looking for a sample of any letters you guys have written to pubs/clubs asking for work whether it be for mobile or resedency work.the reason i am asking is that I am looking to post to all my local pubs/clubs asking for some resedency work i will be including a disk of my work and a buisness card but want to have a covering letter selling myself so i was hoping to get (steal) some ideas from you guys as you seem to no what your talking about and i want to make a good impression. Hi guys Hope your all well A while ago i stumbled on a post that gave settings for mics on the mixer ( gain mid ect) i used these settings for a while untill an artist i was working with changed these and for the life of me cant remember them so can anybody give me some good settings for my mic Your help as usuall is greatly appreciated Cheers RosieR1

  5. Thanks for all the replies guys there much appreciated They say the buses turn up in threes ! Well i recieved a phone call yesterday from a lady who owns a pub a few miles away saying she was given my number by a dj in town (a resident dj whom i have spoken to only a few times )and wanted to book me for 2 ninghts 2/3rd march unfortunatley i already have a booking for the 3rd (the leaving party) but said i could do the 2 nd which is an 18th birthday party i only have to take my laptop as they have all other equipment hopefully i have said that if the night goes well would there be any ch
  6. Hi all Well ive gone and done it I have had 2 bookings confirmed this week the first on March 3rd which is a work collegues fathers works leaving party anf also a 40th birthday party for april. I must admit to feeling very nervous about my first gig but need to get out there and do it and try and build some reputation up. If any body has any advice on how tp approach my first one or what would be best on the night i would greatly appreciate it. Also if anybody can tell me how to stop spending all my money on more DJ equipment the wife would greatly appreciate it Many thanks

Hi Guys Need some help I have used virtual dj on my laptop for past 3 months using a soundblaster sound card 1 channel for the left and one channel for the right software set up as a 4.1 surround so front channel is payer 1 and rear channel is player 2 works great fed into mixer. So i am trying this new pcdj fx but for the life of me can not get the thing to play 2 channels i have done everything the manual tells me to do have configured the soundblaster card to 4 speakers and have configured the software as to the manuals instructions for this type of soundcard i have tried this o
  8. hi I use a soundblaster Audigy2 nx sound card £35 from pc world its usb and gives you 2 channels into the mixer the sound is first class and i get no hum from the labtop into the speakers i use it with virtual DJ and the set up is very easy to do with the software you set it to 4.1 sound and the front channel of the card is channel 1 on the mixer and the rear channel is channel 2 on the mixer , I have thought about going down the road of having a usb mixer but will probs leave that untill i have a bit more expierence and cash . Hi all Just a quick question I was looking through the site for some info on setting up a website and used the link for easyshare (rapid site) on the starting a disco link.I have looked at the site and the options but am still unsure as to go ahead with this or not .So i was wondering if any members on this forum have used this , it states that the price £25.00 includes a free domain name is this the name you choose or/and includes rapidsite in the name eg billyblogs disco@rapidsiteeasyshare.co.uk ? Hello again guys Update I have now got my lights i have purchased 2x colour4 lights with master cable, a gobo flower light and a 60 watt strobe light awaiting my local shop getting the smoke machine in. So im now officially ready to go i have put advertisments on both my wifes and my car windows and my sister in law works in a card shop in a busy shopping center and has said there is no problem puttung a poster on the window of her shop and have some of my buisness cards on the counter so just waiting for the phone to ring Will keep you all updated tongue out icon RosieR1

Hello again all well ive started building my equipment up and have just purchased the following A second hand laptop for back up A brand new 60 gb laptop with dual processor Over 3000 songs on this now sound blaster 24 bit external sound card Kam 4 channel kcm 350 mixer kam kxr 600 amp 2 kam ksf 15 speakers Kam kxr 600 amp 2 adam hall goliath speaker stands 1 kam wireless mic kit 1 skytronic mic (back up) Mic stand 4ft giraffe full dj stand with goal posts Old sony cd player (back up) Total outlay so far £1400.00 So im almost there should be getting

Ed Your a superstar you have made my mind up as this is roughly the same info i have been given from other people so im going to go for the PA502As plus the stands and BEHRINGER MICROHD HD400 i already have a mixer mic and stand.One question tho with the speakers im getting would you still advise using a seperate 80 watt subwoofer as well ? or would the sound be ok from just the speakers. so all that leaves me to get now is a decent DJ stand to put my equipment on and some lighting then i should be sorted (Hopefully) Once again many thanks for the help Brian

Hello all Am new here and a DJ virgin but im looking to try and get some expierience from some of you expierenced djs . so if there is any of you out there who are in the north east of england (sunderland/newcastle) area and wouldnt mind someone tagging along with you at one of your gigs helping setting up and basically mucking in for the night and gaining some no how i would really much appreciate it Many thanks in advance Brian
