    Drum And Bass

They're the ones I usually use, start with Kanye West to come out of an RnB set. Keeps the lads jumping about for 20 mins or so whilst the girls all come up and nag you for RnB and normal dance music! Very helpful and all songs I know as well. Gives me a bit of confidence. Cheers m8

    Drum And Bass

I couldn't agree more. Drum n Bass is not my cup of tea, but more and more of the discos I am doing (18th and 21st) the selection of music asked for is so diverse I like to be prepared. My choice of music that I listen to at home and in the car is diverse and I know that I cannot play this unless I get asked, as I will clear the dancefloor, however I still take it along with me and it has got me out of sticky holes before. For example a 40th birthday. Turns out he was a closet trance fan... Well he didn't tell me before when I met with him, got him to fill out a music question

    Drum And Bass

I do a lot of 18th and 21st Birthdays as I am still fairly up to date with modern day music, however there is one genre of music knowledge that alludes me 'Drum and Bass'. I am always asked for Drum n Bass and have always manage to bluff my way out of it, however I am worried that one day I will not have the gift of the gab. Please can I have some help with what songs work. However I do need patronising and I was wondering if any helpful drum and bass Djs could let me know some popular commercial drum n bass (heard on Mainstream Radio) and then some more specialist songs (only heard
  5. My best to date has to be the song that's called "Call on me brother" ACCORDING TO THE BRIDE! For a third wedding slow song. It took me a while, but got there in the end Michael Bolton - (or others/Bride wanted Michael Bolton) Lean on me Thank :cense: for google.
  6. I have had this problem before. The client wants a song but they only know the most obscure lyrics to it. I usually google and this is what it came up with. You might want to check first however. The song is called: The Question Is, What Is The Question - Scooter
  7. Thank you for all your very positive, helpful advice. The disco in question was last night and I had the last laugh in the end. Very polite, curteous bride, groom and party, however only towards me. They were awful to the photographer, incredibly rude to the venue. They had booked for 60 and 150 people turned up expecting to be seated and fed. The mess that was left at the end was incredible, dirty nappies, piles of :poo: everywhere and I mean real :poo: But in the end it was probably one of my best ever discos I have done due to the advice you all gave. Thank you. I don't t
  8. I have not been able to speak to clients directly as (mentioned) I have been booked by the venue! Thank you for your replies. The advice to date then is telling me to do what I normally do. (What got me the booking in the first place)
  9. Hello to one and all. I have a Wedding booking coming up soon. It is a long winded explanation. We were booked by the venue (planner) to do a Wedding Disco. (Easy no problems at all) All documents sent and returned. Booking fee paid. Week later "Oh the clients are very young and want modern music". Ok I thought no problem, even though this had changed from what we were told before, including music questionnaires, etc.. I am fairly young myself (28). To cut the story short we have been getting this for about three months now where every fortnight we have been called and the story
  10. I am not sure if I have posted in the correct forum, but if not sorry!!! I am sure mods will move if so... Can I start by saying Merry Christmas to one and all. I regularly read the forum and have gained a great deal of knowledge from visiting. Anyway to my post. I have been working hard on providing the best service... We have improved our booking forms and terms and conditions contracts, but want to introduce a new item... not sure what to call it but a music questionnaire to gauge the sort of music the client wants on the night. Now we already ask and meet with the client an
  11. I was advised to move the post onto this forum instead... Sorry if you have read already!!! I have spotted on here that other DJs are willing to help other DJs improve. I am looking for an experienced DJ who is willing to allow me to come to one of their gigs and pick up some tips. In return I will provide my services as a roadie for the night. I am free every weekend in November (apart from first weekend) as my missus has requested a holiday as we have had a hectic July, Aug, Sept and Oct. I am based in south west, so ideally looking for someone in Devon, Somerset, Bristo

  13. I wish my discos were like this. I think that has to be the funniest 'disco' related thing I have ever seen. I am getting married in the summer and my partner and I are looking for something original to do. It must have taken some organising...
  14. P re F ade L evel . In other words checking the level before you fade the music (or speech) in. Don't worry Jim I am always reading acronyms on here and don't have a clue what they mean!
  15. Thank you for your replies. :thanks: In other words I don't need a compressor/limiter for the reasons I thought I did. PFL is the best method. I'm doing something right. :ads: Next question: Do I need a compressor or limiter? Would it be silly if I didn't have one or a waste of money if I did? I warned you I know nothing about technical thingy me bobs.
