  1. a lot depends on what you are playing. are you doing 'specialist' music, like drum & bass, R&B, dance/house etc, or are you doing a 'full night' at the club playing a full range of styles. if its the specialist, you'll find you may have a 1 to 2 hour slot, and the price you charge will depend on the slot your given. If its an opening slot / early slot - expect £50-75 .. if its a prime time slot - expect £200-250 if its a club where he requires you to play all night - then you'll get £60 to 100 The specialist spots pay more, as the punters pay more to listen to the spe

On your first gig (the free one) even offer to do an hour, makes it sound like you are already busy and popular .... be sure to not only drop all the latest choons, but drop the odd old skool fat anthem in too. perhaps even try drop something obscure in .... i tend to use paul hardcastle's 19 or madonna's vogue .... tease the crowd with it. Also - what i done on my first night was ... (i had to work close with the lighting techie) I was playing my second choon, and i simply switched off the deck, the music slowed to a stop - the lights went out .... give it 10 to 15 seconds then B

    Hi Guys

    Hi Guys, A brummie here looking to step into the world of mobile DJ. I have done a little 'disco' style club dj'ing, along with some dance/drum & bass sets too. I'm looking to start us a mobile DJ, offering family parties and weddings etc. I'm more into the mainstream sounds now, instead of the club sounds, therefore decided now is a good time to move over. I have a fair few cd's to get me started etc, and already have turntables and mixer, that i share with my housemate. I'm looking to spend around £1200 (this is slightly variable) and lookign for the ideal setup to suit an audi
