  3. Hi there, Be great to see you, obviously, we're all hoping the weather is going to be ok, as this is another cracking line up. Anyway, the venue itself is a hotel and there is actually a travelodge just next door (attached to the Malta Inn) Maidstone is actually really well served with hotels, so you should be ok on that one. Any other questions, please just shout. Cheers, Paul Forsyth SEDA - Chairman

  7. Thanks for the Edit Tony And well spotted Ben, thanks for the well wishes too. Stop Press! Unfortunately, due to other commitments and staffing problems Numark are now unable to attend the SEDA ShowNight. The UK Sales Manager was both apologetic and disappointed at letting SEDA down at such short notice and has promised to attend in the near future. However David and the team from Allied Sound & Light will have Numark product available on the night and may be able to get anything that you wish to purchase in for you!! Every cloud and all that! 9. I have a set of the KAM 1940 radio mics and find them very good, however I did find that occasionally i did get blind spots and therefore embarrassing drop out. I still use the KAMs for occassional Karaoke, but for speeches I have invested in a Shure UHF dual diversity radio mic (the KAMs are UHF but single diversity) - The Shure is a great sound and never had any drop out........... but the price is way over your budget new, not sure what you could pick a second hand system up for though.
  10. More ShowNight Details!! First UK Outing For New Denon Product It has been confirmed that the DNS 3700 and the DNX 1100 will be making their first UK appearances at SEDA ShowNight this Sunday 15th March 2009! Gary Job has also promised some “hot news” on “special pricing” from Denon!!!!
  11. Been mulling this one and reading and re-reading before voting. I agree that DJ X'x surcharge does stick in the throat a bit but, as has already been said, this DJ does come with all the boxes ticked. DJ Y's practice (in other threads) seems to be on that alot of us do berate and condem, yet appear in this thread to be willing to financially support and reward????? Really not here to preach, but personally my take on this is it's my problem and if I have to be out of pocket, so be it. Hopefully the client will be very happy, and my reputation will be upheld. Maybe thr
  12. To my knowledge there were (are) only two versions 4ish mins & 8 ish mins. The original single was released with Pt 1 on the A side and Pt 2 on the B side so I guess you could say that both versions charted. Cheers.
  13. Hi, I think some of the above comments are kind of touching on one key fact - it's probably more important to find out about any songs not to play than songs to play. Keep in your mind that this is a celebration and treat it as such. I havn't played a wake before but have played an anniversary celebration of someones life five years on, maybe the loss is not so raw, but there were some very touching speeches, but also a very upbeat feel to the whole event. Good luck, and do let us know how you get on.
  14. Hi Nik, Firstly, top man for doing it!!! Secondly, my immediate thoughts are that quite a few wil be looking at the more attractive club dj work, so maybe some research on how to approach clubs, making a mix demo, local (if there are any) college courses that run djing as part of a music course. Just an initial thought. Good luck mate.
