    Buffet Jingle

Anyone know where i can get my hands on the little buffet jingle that i often hear played at parties ?????

    Playlists

This man shouldn't appear in any playlist by any DJ !!!!!
  3. Which Quo songs do you find get people up dancing, apart from Rocking all over the World, i never try any others
  4. Does the seller not list the returns policy, i would imagine they would have one if they are a DJ shop seller on there. Have a look on the item listing for the returns policy & have a look under their member page for a returns policy. I would give them 2-3 days to respond to email sent (they may receive large numbers if they are a big seller) and then after this, start a dispute through ebay
  5. Cheers for advice guys (and gals) One thing i considered this afternoon whilst i was in work, was am i better playing a section of this sort of music to get it all out of the way at once or play songs in between throughout the night to get a balance. Any suggestions
  6. It is part of regular work i do with the venue, they organise party packs and offer a dj for the event, which is the regular work that i get, every weekend, Friday / Saturday or both. I am considering ringing the parents and saying that whilst i'm prepared to play some of the music on the DO list, the night will not be dominated by it, i listened to some of the stuff last night, its quite agressive metal, not exactly party atmos. songs !! As for the DONT's list, i'm not going to pay too much attention to it, songs that get everyone at the party up dancing and enjoying themselves are
  7. Cheers Jason, i was going away to do some reasearch on google & youtube, just wanted to put some feelers out with fellow dj's on here. I did think i was pretty well stock on music, until this sprung up - just goes to show !!
  8. Hiya All I've got an 18th on Saturday night and the birthday girl has sent through a list of DO and DON'T playlist songs, some of the DO's have completely stumped me & i've no idea who they are or what music they are famous (if they even are) for: 1. Go Audio 2. Nine Inch Nails 3. Evenged Seven-fold 4. Zebrahead 5. Atreyus (not sure if spelling is correct yet) Can anyone shed any light on these artists and titles of their big hits to play at an 18th ???? I'm a little annoyed at her DON'T play list as some of it is disco classics that fill the floor and basically

    Mastermix

Does anyone use the Mastermix albums and megamix tracks when they are dj'ing ? Just after a general straw-poll and opinion !! I quite like them 'cos they fill sections of the night and have some good tracks and mixes on them. On a down side of them, they can sometimes have some good floor-fillers in between them that you would normally put on anyway. Does anyone use them and they just play the floor-fillers anyway later on, repeating songs (a pet hate of mine!) ?? Opinions welcome
  10. New to the site.... are these albums available for download/purchase?? Anyone give me some pointers
  11. Yeh, i've got a similiar situation next weekend when i'm doing my first 40th party..... obviously i'll see what the crowd are like and what they seem to want to listen to. But my first experiences have only been 18th's and 21st's so a little apprehensive about how this one will go !!
  12. Hey Guys / Gals I'm on the look out for a new laptop for my dj'ing. Will be using an external harddrive so it will only be running winamp. Anyone recommend a good laptop, not sure on the budget i've got yet, but let's say £500 or below
  13. I'm not exactly sure how but it appears to have been a problem with the cable that was connecting my laptop into the mixer, a friend of mine had a look over it and diagnosed this. I've replaced the cable, connected up in stereo mode as you all explained above and it is working excellent. Two weeks now before i have a night to test it out on some customers !!
  14. Cheers guys, great support on here. I got a call this afternoon from my other dj partner, he had managed to get it working using two 4ohm speakers. He was told that the cable that connects the laptop to the mixer was the problem. I am yet to try it with the new laptop cable and our own 8 ohm speakers. Failing that, it is a return trip to Maplin and enquire about refunds etc etc
  15. It is a brand new amp, only purchased in the last 2 weeks, used only once. Maybe it is faulty. I'll have to get some advice from Maplin then
