In Topic: Denon Hc-4500 + Virtual Dj - Any Tips

Best tip I can give you is read the manual and set it up the way that you like, there are preset mappers available to download on the Denon & VDJ (I think) websites, you can also download a DN-HC 4500 skin for VDJ which is really cool. Also if you are using it with Vista / 7 you need to adjust the jog trans to 12+, think the default setting is 4. It is possible that the previous owner has already done this however, the unit will crash intermittently if you don't. The manual explains how to do this. Best of luck with it, I find it to be a great unit.

Hey Mike, do you prefer the rmx or the hc4500?

a good friend of mine married a peruvian girl in new york a few years ago and it was a smilar thing except we all headed to a club afterwards but it broke the continuity of the night

Conversely a good friend of my wife married an american lad in co mayo last summer and myself, the brides family and a good proportion of the american visitors stayed going until breakfast was served at
8am!

I was aguest at wedding in Tuscon Arz last summer,It was on the roof of the Hotel, baking weather (my pale Irish skin was not up for the fight )The meal ended approx 5.30.pm,by the time the place was cleared and the guests mingled it had got dark, the dj had very quietly set up didnt even notice him ,he had a nice rig,no lights, just the moon light and the gentle glow from the hotel lights .He started playing very low volume ,got the first dance out of the way, gradualy increased the volume to very acceptable level,by this time the Irish party ,much to the amusement of the American guests had drunk the free bar dry by 10.00pm 11.00 the night is over,( what the ) In Ireland the craic dosent even start until the band is gone and the dj has started ,come 3.00 am everybody in to the residents lounge and the sing song starts.
12.00 midnight all the local guests went to bed.
The Irish contingent along with some bewilered Mexcians, formed the chairs in the middle of the dance floor and sang dubious Irish and trini lopez songs until God knows when,
what anight.
The locals who joined our singsong never expericenced an Irish wedding before it was the talk of the hotel the next day for what I rememder of it
Next day went down to Tombstone to the Ok Coral
that story is for another day.
ps the dj played some great jazzy mexican music a change from 9 to 5

In Topic: Datamoons White Strobe.

The strobe is "ok", but I've got a weird one where the spirals are dark blue on one and purple on the other.. Not sure what the colour is supposed to be or if the gobo wheel was made in a different facility (both serial numbers seem indicate they were built around the same time).

White is alright I've found, as most floors are some sort of wooden floor, so most light doesn't reflect back off of it.. Also i have settings (override buttons) for all-white, all-blue, etc. etc. for other lights in my "rig"...

Otherwise, good post on how to customise your Datamoon a little ! :)

Cheers,

David

I like the white setting - find it good for first and last dances!

In Topic: Best Usb Controller For Under 200?

Hey all,

First post, so thanks in advance.

Want to buy a USB controller for Virtual DJ in the next few days.

Can't decide between Numark Total Control (cheap, but no built in sound card) or the Hercules MK4 (pricey, but one box solutions) - tips please?

Anything else, maybe even better, I should be looking at?

second hand hercules rmx, great controller, built to last. I've seen them at less than 200 used.
