  1. I was at V festival last Saturday which is now their final performance (supposedly), they were poor, Liam was being a kn*b (more so than normal), and the sound was really quiet. They were upstaged by James, Elbow and Snow Patrol who were all on before them. Rumours are abound they were out in Birmingham after the gig and a bit worse for wear, so when they pulled out of the Chemsford leg of V on Sunday we knew something was up as the only illness it could have been was a hangover or a case of 'Cant be Arsed'!! I said then that they were finished! Though in a couple of years time when t
  2. Brill, thanks. Hopefully thats the last of the stupid questions for now, and i can get up and running tomorrow before my 'first time' for real a week on friday!!
  3. Cheers folks. For the size of gig I am looking to do initially I think I should be fine with a basic amp, if things go well and I decide I need to upgrade, then I will over time. I do have another amp, and that just has 2 jack outputs, though not sure how good it is, hence me getting another one so I can choose the better one. I hope my questions aren't getting sillier, but Ive spent ages trying to search for the right leads. I would like to go with the jacks, because they would suit both amplifiers. However I am struggling to find some 6.3mm -6.3mm. Plus the speakers have 2 hole
  4. Hi, Yes they are pa speakers, i dont have the model numbers, but the left and right ones are McKenzie, and the large one is Q-MAX. The amplifier is Skytec PA-240 DJ PA Amplifier 480 Watts
  5. Hi all, would appreciate some answers to my thick questions if you can??? I recently bought a basic Skytech amplifier for £51.90. My enquiry is about the leads that run from it to the speakers, as I am struggling to find the ones I need to use. I have 3 speakers, one central one which will run off a 6.3mm jack plug, but the 'left' and 'right' speaker are the ones I am not so sure about. The speaker connection is also a 6.3mm jack plug, but I am not sure of the connection that goes into the back of the amplifier. Can you point me in the right direction of what I should be looking
  6. Hi, Another new one here, I am just starting up some mobile work, primarily around Lancs and Yorkshire due to my current job/housing situation taking me into both counties :) Used to help out a guy when I was in my teens and always fancied getting into it myself. An approach from a friend about sorting out music for his wedding has now lead me to taking the plunge and deciding to give it a go. Ive just got some gear off ebay for now, first priority is a few bookings, more amongst friends and contacts, earn some money to plough into upgrading the equipment and then to see from there
