  1. I've had a few in the last couple of days come through, a quick look at them and then they're deleted.
  2. Hi, I'm in the south west as well, Swindon.
  3. You can download and buy individual mp3g tracks from Sunfly here: http://www.singsunfly.com/ Should be able to find what you need.
  4. I use DJ intelligence, clients like the fact that they can preselect playlists and use the event planning and timeline tools. It's very customisable and I don't yet use half of the features available. I used the trial version of DJ Event Planner, very similar to DJ I but more tools available to the DJ in the way of finance and staff. It's more expensive than DJ I. Both versions allow you a trial version so you can see which suits you best.
  5. I've never seen those two automated systems before but I can see how a pub or hotel may well be drawn to them.
  6. We had this on Saturday night for a wedding reception. The previous week we were in the same venue for a 30th birthday and it was a great night, people danced all evening. The wedding reception was completely different, nobody wanted to dance. We were contracted until 11.30pm but by 10.30 a lot of people had gone. They started taking all the decorations down at about 10.50, we were still playing of course. By 11.20 there was just the brides parents and about 3 people left still tinkering about cleaning up. No mention for us to stop playing so we carried on until the allotted time. The bri
  7. Thanks for all your comments, the wedding party enjoyed the setup so that's the main thing. All the white covers apart from the starcloth are washable. The leds can change pattern and fade same as most starcloths, we didn't have set to twinkle during the evening.
  8. It's all washable apart from the starcloth. The setup went down very well with everyone and we'll be offering it as an "added value" extra for all future wedding quotes.
  9. Just a quick vid after we'd setup this afternoon for tonight's reception. First time using the white starcloth and speaker covers, the theme is pink and we've set the par cans to match. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3SKpPstebc
  10. Normally at a birthday gig etc I'll wear black shirt and trousers and sometimes a tie, more formal for weddings. I've been toying with the idea of getting my logo embroidered on to a shirt just above the left breast pocket area. What do you think, tasteful, tacky, subtle advertising, a good idea?
  11. 30th birthday party tonight, on the first floor and the lift is broken! I'm there again next weekend for a wedding as well. Birthday girl's submitted playlist is: MUST PLAY: Abba - Honey Honey Adams, Bryan - Summer Of '69 Astley, Rick - Never Gonna Give You Up B-52's - Love Shack Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling Booty Luv - Boogie 2Nite Burke, Alexandra - All Night Long Burke, Alexandra - Broken Heels Cantrell, Blu Feat. Sean Paul - Breathe Carmen, Eric - Hungry Eyes Cascada - Evacuate The Dancefloor Commitments - Mustang Sally Duffy - Mercy Guetta, Da
  12. I've got a powerpoint presentation that runs on my monitor like an advert. Depending on what the function is I'll put out business cards on the tables.
  13. I had my first experience of a sound limiter last night doing a combined disco/karaoke. Doing the disco it was fairly easy to stay within the traffic light system. I explained to the guests at the beginning of the evening that I couldn't ramp the sound up and what would happen if I did. Then came the karaoke and this is where it got really tricky. Especially for the male singers, the vocals pushed it straight into the red, I had to turn the mic right down and was constantly monitoring every singer. It took the enjoyment out of it for me, I had to concentrate on those damn lights. I
  14. Engagement party tomorrow night and the venue has a sound limiter, my first experience of one!
  15. Snap, I did that recently and it is embarrassing but like you I quickly recovered.
